All PS5 Launch Games
Below you'll find a list of all PS5 launch games. It's worth stressing that release dates are subject to change, although we're committed to updating this page so bookmark it for the latest information. We should also add that all of these games will be available prior to the PlayStation 5's launch in Europe on 19th November, but some will release shortly after the US release date of 12th November.
Assassin's Creed Valhalla
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla converts Ubisoft’s distinctive sandbox style to the vicious story of the Vikings, as you assume the role of Eivor and forge your own path through the brutal battlefields of ninth century England.
Astro's Playroom
Astro Bot is breaking away from PlayStation VR and into a 3D platformer on PS5. The adorable robo-mascot is getting a game that takes full advantage of PS5's capabilities, and what's more, it comes pre-installed on the hardware. That's right — if you buy a PS5, you'll automatically own Astro's Playroom. Cool!
Borderlands 3
Gearbox's flagship looter-shooter franchise will make its PS5 debut at launch, as the studio rolls out its next-gen upgrade featuring 60 frames-per-second gameplay at 4K resolution. This version even has four-player split-screen support, and is a free upgrade if you already own the title on PS4.
Bugsnax
Kinda bug and kinda snack, try to catch ‘em in your trap… You know how the song goes already, but Bugsnax’s inclusion in the PS5 launch lineup is sure to add something a little different to your day one gaming rotation. PS Plus members will even get it as part of their subscription. Hooray!
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War
Alright, you’ve caught us out. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War launches a day after Sony’s system in the United States, but will be available at launch in Europe. As such, we’re counting the jam-packed military outing as a launch title, but some of you may have to wait 24 hours before being able to boot it up on your next-gen console.
Dead by Daylight
If you fancy some multiplayer in your horror games, Dead by Daylight's your best bet. One player is a terrifying monster while the others must run for their lives in this asynchronous title. It's coming to PS5 on day one, so you can scare each other silly in higher fidelity than ever before.
Demon's Souls
Bluepoint Games is famed for creating incredible remakes of past favourites, and this PS5 reimagining of Demon's Souls is no exception. This hardcore action RPG game led onto the Dark Souls series as we know it, and it's looking absolutely amazing on PS5. We can't wait to die hundreds of times in this one.
Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition
Capcom’s glitzy character action Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition is getting a PS5 overhaul, complete with eye-popping raytracing effects, as well as the addition of Vergil as a playable character. Other upgrades include Legendary Dark Knight difficulty, Turbo mode, and much more to sweeten the deal.
DIRT 5
Codemasters is bringing us an arcadey off-road racer for the PS5's launch, and it's looking good. Supporting a free upgrade path from PS4 to PS5, the game sports a career mode starring the likes of Nolan North and Troy Baker. It also has plenty of next-gen features, like support for 120 frames per second, super fast loading, and more.
Fortnite
Epic Games’ battle royale sensation will leap from the Battle Bus in time for the PS5’s launch, and all of your progress and unlocks will make the jump with you.
Godfall
Godfall is a self-titled looter slasher, meaning it's a PS5 game all about stylish melee combat and getting bigger and better gear. Coming from new studio Counterplay Games, it has three-player co-op against all kinds of enemies and bosses. If you're into loot drops, Godfall has you covered.
Goonya Fighter
Never heard of it? We don't blame you. It's a party fighting game with floppy physics, and that's about all you need to know. Sony lists it as a PS5 launch game, so here it is.
King Oddball
Perhaps the most bizarre inclusion in the PS5 launch lineup is the re-release of an old PS3 and PS Vita mobile port called King Oddball. In this game you control a giant moon, and must fling rocks at enemies using your tongue. We're not making a word of this up.
Maneater
Hungry for something a little different to accompany your PS5 at launch? Maneater is the world’s first ShaRkPG – an aquatic adventure where you evolve a Great White by feasting on seafood. With upgraded visuals, including raytracing and performance, this underwater outing is some-fin special for sure.
Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales
The follow-up to Marvel's Spider-Man is nearly here, and it's coming alongside PS5 at launch. As the title suggests, this game focuses on Miles, one year after the events of the first game. As well as continuing the storyline, it'll be full of exciting combat, a snowy city to explore, and no doubt new suits to unlock. Thwip!
Marvel's Spider-Man: Remastered
Available as part of the Ultimate Edition of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales – or via a paid upgrade inside the spin-off – Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered is an overhaul of Insomniac Games’ iconic 2018 superhero smash, featuring completely revamped visual assets and an entirely new Peter Parker.
Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate
Mortal Kombat 11 is an absolutely massive game, and this Ultimate iteration will prove the best way to play all of its kontent in one place. It's technically launching on 17th November, so it's lagging a few days behind the US console launch, but will be ready day one in Europe.
NBA 2K21
2K Sports’ iconic basketball simulation dunks the PS5 just in time for the new season, with overhauled presentation and gameplay features. If you purchased the Mamba Forever Edition of NBA 2K21 then you’ll be able to upgrade to the next-gen release for free.
No Man's Sky: The Next Generation
The massively enhanced No Man's Sky update for PS5 will be available at launch, meaning existing owners of the game will be able to upgrade for free — or you'll be able to experience the magic of Hello Games' ever-evolving world for the first time on your next-gen console.
Observer: System Redux
You may be looking elsewhere for your neo-future, sci-fi, cyberpunk fix right around the PS5’s launch, but Bloober Team’s gritty detective drama Observer: System Redux is promising an alternative option to CD Projekt RED’s anticipated role-playing release. Boasting brand new visuals, this could be worth a look if you love dystopian worlds.
Overcooked: All You Can Eat
Overcooked: All You Can Eat bundles together all the content from the two PS4 co-op cooking games, and remasters it all for PS5. A team of up to four players must fulfil orders in hectic and crazy kitchens. In this next-gen package, everything runs at a smooth 4K and 60 frames-per-second, and there are some brand new accessibility options to boot.
The Pathless
Abzu developer Giant Squid is abandoning the oceans in favour of the wilds, with its rhythmic open worlder The Pathless. With no map to guide you, this enormous sandbox is yours to discover at 60 frames-per-second, with each area harbouring scintillating secrets for you to uncover.
Planet Coaster: Console Edition
Looking for something a little different for your PS5 day one? Planet Coaster: Console Edition is a more laidback theme park builder, where you'll need to balance your resort's finances while still constructing a destination that adrenaline junkies will enjoy.
Poker Club
We hope you've got your poker faces on, as it's time for cards. Ray-traced cards, to be exact. Supporting a free upgrade from PS4 to PS5, you'll be able to win big bucks as you go from rookie player to poker superstar. With 4K resolution and 60 frames per second, and even support for DualSense's capabilities, this is the optimal way to play some virtual poker.
Sackboy: A Big Adventure
If you have a LittleBigPlanet-shaped hole in your heart, never fear. Sumo Digital is working on Sackboy: A Big Adventure, dropping the creative elements in favour of a fully fledged 3D platformer. With support for four-player co-op, this should be a lighthearted riot with a few buddies. The handmade world of Sackboy is sure to be a joy to explore on PS5.
Warhammer: Chaosbane Slayer Edition
You can get your Warhammer on with Chaosbane's Slayer Edition, coming to PS5 on launch day. This is an isometric action RPG that's being beefed up on Sony's new system with 4K and 60 frames-per-second. It's also set to include all previously released content as well as some brand new stuff to see and do.
Watch Dogs Legion
Recruit anyone and everyone in Ubisoft’s sandbox adaptation of neo-future London, where the city is your ally. Play as dithering grandmas and James Bond-inspired super spies, as you hack your way to the centre of England’s iconic capital city.
WRC 9
If you're looking for some straight-faced rallying to kick off your PS5 launch, look no further than WRC 9. The next-gen edition is arriving right alongside the new console, bringing officially licensed rally racing to PS5 on day one.

What about Batman?
GTA V confirmed.
"Final Fantasy VII Remake"
Can't wait for it to be called
"Final Fantasy VII: The Remake Remastered"
on PS5. 🤣
What no HZD2?
Surely that would be a big possibility for a launch title.
If not at launch than just a couple months later like infamous second son was for PS4.
@LN78 @jdv95 For a long time we thought it would be too, but now that we're around a year out from PS5 launching, our opinion has changed. If we look at Sony's supposed launch schedule for big exclusives right now, it's something like this:
November 2019: Death Stranding
Early 2020: The Last of Us: Part II (educated guess)
???: Ghost of Tsushima
Ghost is the one that's hard to pin down because it's been completely silent for a long time. But realistically, it's either a summer PS4 release or Sony's saving it for PS5 as a cross-gen title. That seems the most logical conclusion to us.
The thing with HZD2 is that we don't think Sony will want to rush it in any way — it'll want HZD2 to be a key exclusive for PS5, the series is primed to be gigantic. If Sony saves Ghost for the PS5's launch, then that gives Guerrilla a lot of time to really nail it — and this is a strategy that Sony's demonstrated many times in the past.
We reckon HZD2 is going to be the PS5's big game in 2021.
What about a Sunset Overdrive definitive edition?
@DiddyWahDiddy and honestly, I'd probably buy it again lol
Coooome ooon street fighter VI.
Also hope they port over PT lol.
Seriously though i desparately hope i can transfer my copy of PT over
@Mafia_Man19 MS owns that game.
@Octane Actually they don't anymore.
Gran Turismo 7 at launch? That would be awesome but I have my doubts we will see another Gran Turismo that soon, just going off of how infrequently they release.
An obscure prediction: The original Timesplitters was a ps2 launch title, with the recent trademark maybe we’ll see a similar trend with ps5 with a TS game?
Also Resident Evil 3 remake
No ps5 without Nathan Drake! I'm guessing we see a teaser of a new uncharted around the ps5 launch
The only thing on this list that sounds interesting to me is FF7's remake. Otherwise it's just the same old shooters and sports games we get every year. Sure on PS5 I am certain they'll look positively gorgeous... but that's about all.
I am still holding out hope, probably in-vain, that PS5 will be the penultimate Sony machine and support PS1-PS5 games all from their original disks.
@TowaHerschel7 Sony owns the franchise, but MS still owns the first game. Meaning that Sony can release a sequel, or a spin-off, but they can't rerelease the first game without Microsoft's consent.
There should be an Open World Uncharted already. Something like GTA with globetrotting and treasure hunting as the main theme.
@rjejr I'll wait for "Final Fantasy VII: The Remake Remastered 8K - Definite Edition"
@Rhaoulos If you're lucky part 2 might even be out by then.
Seriously though, they don't even know how many parts it will be, so they can't even be asked about a timeline of when it will all be finished. Trying to decide how many of us will get to finish this game is like the Drake equation trying to explain the chances of life on another planet.
We can call it the FF7R equation.
Number of parts of the game x the time it takes each part to release / the likelihood Squenix will stay in business long enough to finish all the parts / average lifepan of a gamer - average life of gamers now = 8% chance any of use will get to play the end of this remake
Ghost of Tsushima, Cyberpunk & Last of us 2 all sound great.
Please no PS5 remastered games of PS4 that where on PS3 being remastered from PS2 that was originally a PS1 game.
A remaster of a hd remaster of a remaster of another remaster from an a game that everyone has played already to death.
Fingers crossed the PS5 will play PS4 games and even better if it plays PS3 ( But not holding my hopes ). Id be happy if it played PS5 & PS4 games and was a beautiful monster that was quite and has a nice big fan inside with lots of air holes and did not over heat and i could hear the games with out putting in earphones every time i wanted to get in the zone.
I'm getting call of duty black ops 5,madden NFL 21 with a PlayStation 5 pro bundle next year with the season pass
I wonder if Sony is done with the Knack series ?
@Octane I Think Sony Can Buy The Publishing Rights From Microsoft Like How Remedy Got The Rights To Alan Wake Back
OK, I guess I will go...
Ah, Demon Souls PS5...
Just saying.
You forgot TLOU II MP?
Since cross gen play was announced anyway that makes sense.
even if all of those titles were available on launch day, it wouldn't convince me to buy a PS5 right off-the-bat. anything i wanted that already released on PS4, i would have bought already. i don't see how necessary it is to port games to PS5.. and whether publishers will expect people to pay twice if they already bought PS4 games.
said it before, but i think there is close to zero chance than H:ZD2 will launch with PS5. given how long it took to make the first one, and the fact it sold 10m+ copies.. they're not going to get anywhere close to that number in the first year of PS5, unless practically every owner buys it.
i think destiny 3 might be a possibility. arriving early on PS4 really helped the original destiny thrive, imo, and being a launch title. and given the typical cycle of base game, followed in two consecutive years by a major expansion, next year would be when a new numbered release could be expected.
Tbh, I just want HZD2. I'll wait for the bundle if there's no immediate release. Well... that and Final Fantasy VII Remake, lol. I love Cloud! XD
Want to play so many of these...feeling excited and overwhelmed!!!
What about Godfall?
"Watch Dogs Legion: Given the calibre of the software around it, Watch Dogs Legion could get overlooked when it launches on PS4 in March."
Wait, what ?
So wait does everybody think death stranding and such are going to be "re-released"? and not just enhanced trough patch if you have it already? thats such a kick in the nuts
@beavis64 Of course I'm interested in new games - I'm not interested in new games that offer nothing new but fancy graphics. The age of a game doesn't matter to me - games from 40 years ago can be more fun than brand new games at times. As a long time gamer - the idea of an "ultimate playstation" that plays the entire library of Sony titles, and was rumored for a while, really appeals to me.
The new games show so far are very few and don't look that interesting. Both Sony and MS are putting too much focus on specs of the consoles and the graphics. I want gameplay and story and actual features.
I could see TLOU2 and GOT ports to fill out the shelves in the stores. But I really hope they don't make a big deal out of them. They shouldn't count as launch games. Still holding out for a combo like Horizon Zero Dawn 2 and a new Ratchet & Clank for example.
I want the new open-world Power Rangers game based on Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (3 seasons) with retelling and a Sonic 30th anniversary game titled Sonic Future.
If there's a game that can be a showcase of next gen graphics is Gran Turismo. Specially for ray tracing since it's creator it's a madman of photo realism and currently has one of the best HDR in gaming. I really see GT as the ray tracing showcase early on.
Does anyone have a theory as to is Sony will follow suit with Microsoft and provide a path to upgrade PS4 titles to their PS5 version?
Microsoft has made a big deal out of updating purchased products from XboxS to XboxX.
Does Sony follow suit....?
So it’s mostly just ports and re-releases. Bit of a put off if I’m honest.
@Heavyarms55
@Heavyarms55
Hear hear man, the focus is unbalanced and needs to be brought back further towards the actual gameplay and stories of games, more single player campaigns and more in depth stories. Too much focus on graphics and visuals, they have that nailed now, they should move back to developing longer much more challenging games. I was playing Quackshot a few nights ago on my megadrive, man that is a tough old game! The night before hitman 2 on the PS2. There's too much focus on online mulitplayer. I loved the last COD on PS4, i thought the campaign was excellent and really good fun, but it was over way too quick, I could have gone another 5 levels and not got bored. What annoys me is they do not release single player DLC with most games afterwards, its all muliplayer online DLC. Sniper Elite 4 did and I loved the DLC for that, some great additional missions.
@toby2020 As for difficulty, I am 110% in the camp of difficulty options. Let people have their easy, normal, hard and crazy modes if they want. But as for single player, I totally agree. Multi-player is great but there needs to be a balance. There's still a big market for major single player adventures but not a lot of games being made or marketed in that vein anymore. Some, but not nearly as many as there could be.
And although I like DLC a lot of the time, I usually pass on online only DLC, unless I'm really really into a game. But the DLC for games like Breath of the Wild, Fire Emblem 3 Houses, Pokemon SW/SH, Xenoblade 2, all big single player expansions? I eat that up!
But map packs for multi-player? Meh. Maybe.
For honor is definitely a must it wall help to show off new controller features (if there are any) and the new 3d sound as well
I also just really like for honor
@Svark i agree with ps4 the best they did was clean up some old games i think if they do any more old games of get games from other systems they should add to it or at least put in their own little touch
@Arugula me too but i could also go for the dark souls games again ik they are old but the story was good they were somewhat challenging (not counting darksouls 3 it kind of sucked as far as weapons and gameplay difficulty go i can get halfway through before first death) and they were good with enemies and weapons
No Demon's Souls? @Potatomanz Sorry if I missed it in the above comments , I didn't scroll that far up, but I saw you had mentioned the Souls games, so, do you reckon that will pop up on that list anytime soon?
So spiderman, which can be played on ps4. I’m not a souls person.
I’ll be able to hold on to current gen a bit longer. That’s fine! No need for me to battle with the scalpers.
I've never played a Souls game so I'm going to try Demon's Souls as it looks bloody amazing, that and Astro Bot will do for now oh and Cyberpunk which comes out the same day
Yeah, I’m not paying $480 for the chance to play a playroom game (techdemo?) and a remake of Demon’s Souls. Guess I’ll wait a year or two.
@TheNewButler I think you get the PS5 patch for Spider-Man for free if you already own the game, no?
Sackboy looks neat, but I'm not paying €70 for that. It'll drop to a bargain bin price soon enough however.
When an article from a year ago comes back to the front page and all anyone is talking about is FF7R, TLoU2 and HZD2, 3 games that are no longer on the list. 🤣
@ShogunRok "it'll want HZD2 to be a key exclusive for PS5"
Been a long long year. Even this part, which looks correct, may not be:
"We reckon HZD2 is going to be the PS5's big game in 2021"
If, and I still think that's a big if, GoW2 comes out in 2021 - I'm guessing early 2022 - I think that's a bigger game than HFW. Though it only outsold it by a smidge, 13m -12m.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best-selling_PlayStation_4_video_games
On another note, actually finally started TW3 last night.
After 3 hours:
it's Kingdom of Amular Reckoning set in Skyrim w/ some Uncharted 4 human graphics.
Gwent is way weird, lost my first match, won the 2nd, rules were not explained well.
Witcher vision feels very Aloy and Lara Croft, which is a good thing
combat is even stranger than I thought, no comparisons. I think I'm going to need to grind a lot at the beginning - solved the dwarf blacksmith burn down last night - to try and figure it out, almost died the first monster attack
Lots of dialogue options makes me think Mass Effect, which I never played, but I think you also liked
So, is this the game or does something happen? KoA:R never really changed, nor did Skyrim, but my new favorite game fo all time is Xenoblade Chronicles and the first 15 hours of that were so lame I stopped playing for a year, then restarted it a year later when XC2 was announced, so I'm hoping like most games TW3 picks up in 10 or 12 hours. Maybe after the old man - who I left behind in the tavern - dies. Seems likely he will.
I'll delete this after you reply, I know it's off topic. Unless PS5 gets a Witcher 3 remastered added to the page.
@TheNewButler I'd wait on more info if I were you, before buying the ultimate edition and discovering you get the PS5 patch for free.
Considering games like Horizon 2 get a free PS5 patch if you buy it on PS4, it WOULD make sense the applies to Spidey.
Seems like something for everyone even if DeS is the only one I'm personally hyped for.
Just been looking at the PlayStation 5 lineup page on their website. There are two different tabs that say ‘PS5 exclusive’ and ‘PlayStation Console exclusive’. Apparently Bugsnax, Oddworld and Stray seem to be straddling the PS4 and PS5.
https://www.playstation.com/en-gb/ps5/games/?smcid=pdc%3Aen-gb%3Aprimary%2520nav%3Amsg-games%3Aps5
Where's my Tetris...mmm...
Do Assassins Creed Valhalla and Watchdogs Legions not count as launch titles?
The Only thing makes me excited to buy ps5
Is dimons souls & its $70 🙄
Sony trying to flop their next gen so fast
So will Assassins Creed Valhalla and Watchdogs legion be available day one ?
PushSquare, selling the PS5 better than Sony.
This is such an impressive launch lineup, but too many unknowns remain.
I don't want to spend more money to play Sackboy or Spiderman when they are available on a console I already own and supposedly will get a free PS5 upgrade.
Sony needed to show all THESE games in the event. They needed to be clear that they were LAUNCH titles, not 'holiday 2020' titles.
After the event they needed to show side by side comparisons of the PS4 and PS5 versions because journalists don't have access.
If Spiderman looks like Superman 64 compared to the PS5 version then I would feel confident in spending 600-700 dollars buying into the new gen.
For now I am left thinking of broken DS4 controllers at launch and see more risk than reward.
Anybody know when Rachet and Clank: A Rift Apart will release? I thought that was a launch title 🤷🏻♂️
I feel bad for Destruction All-Stars, hard to see it selling well at that price.
@Waa-Laa Rift Apart is launch window, so it'll be early 2021.
Honestly this is an incredible launch lineup, better than I thought it would be, and so much better than what the PS4 launched with it’s crazy. Getting a new Spiderman and Demon’s Souls day one is huge.
A lot to play for the first ones in line getting a PS5.
I really want to be excited for next gen, but I’m just not. That lineup is just not appealing enough to me - Nothing for me on the new Xbox either. Oh well! Still have a few current gen games left to play and complete while I look forward to 2021.
Hi guys I know this isn’t the place for it but I need some advice. I’m looking to sell my entirely brand new & sealed collection of Gran Turismo games, it includes every pal release including the PSP game and also includes Tourist Trophy which is also brand new and sealed, all PAL U.K. copies. Any ideas what price I should charge lol thanks. And the ps5 hype train goes on and on and on ....
@Classic_console Ubisoft came out the other month and said games will be £70 next gen
@everynowandben it’s the best launch lineup in ps history lol
@Mikey856 Try pricecharting.com
@everynowandben thanks mate I did think about that but I guess the value is in the collection itself I reckon
Has the launch line up been impacted by Covid? That's got to be the smallest line up in playstation history right? Even Wii U had more titles than this. Plus the biggest game to me is Spiderman and it's also on PS4.
I thought Xbox line up was pretty poor but next gen is looking a little poor at the minute.
@Pinkman For whatever reason, PushSquare hasn't listed these games in this article (copied from IGN):
Assassin's Creed: Valhalla
Cyberpunk 2077* (Releases alongside PS5 worldwide launch on Nov 19th)
Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War* (Releases Nov 13th)
Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition
Destiny 2: Beyond Light
Godfall
Fortnite
Marvel’s Avengers
Observer: System Redux
Watch Dogs Legion
(Edit: added more confirmed launch games)
@everynowandben Thanks, that looks a little better. I forgot about Cyberpunk!
Other than Spiderman it looks like I'll be playing PS4 games on my PS5 for a while.
Not even interested in ubisoft latest versions of assassin's creed and watch dogs and I used to love those series.
I'll replay Spiderman for a new platinum trophy when that remaster comes, other than that I don't see much until Far Cry 6
I was hoping GT7 would come out day 1 Oh well. I might just get the Sackboy game Because I still haven't played the first Spiderman yet and doubt I will by November. BRILLIANT Line up of games tho
Isn’t Dirt 5 ready for launch?
Sackboy will be a day 1 for me along with demon souls and spidey...
@everynowandben Some of those may be launching around the same time as PS5, but their PS5 versions have not been dated.
Particularly Cyberpunk 2077, AC Valhalla, Watch Dogs Legion, and Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War.
As for why DMC V is skipped, I imagine because it's a straight up port with new features?
I'm sure @get2sammyb can explain this better.
@KidBoruto
https://watchdogs.ubisoft.com/game/en-us/ 10/29
https://www.ubisoft.com/en-us/game/assassins-creed/valhalla 11/10
https://www.callofduty.com/blackopscoldwar 11/13
https://www.cyberpunk.net/us/en/ 11/19
For those listing Cyberpunk as a launch title... There's no confirmed date for PS5 or Xbox series X. Both are backwards compatible, but will not be built for the new gen. New gen versions to come later. Smart delivery for xbox, no word yet on PS5.
In other news... Why the hell is everything 70 dollars, and 70 pound. Why don't Sony ever convert prices?
@Sinton Good for you.
@Pinkman Well the PS3 wasnt that great i think i saw two games i really wanted. 😆
Isn’t Dirt 5 a launch game?
Astro’s Playroom and Sackboy should keep me going until R&C and then GT7 releases. Especially as I’ve been saving FF7R until the PS5 release.
AC: Valhalla is on Nov 12th on PS5
Feel a lot better about not pre-ordering...
Assassins Creed Valhalla comes out on PS5 before launch so could be counted. Not sure what the deal is with Watch Dogs legion
With all the info on Ratchet and Clank I was hoping this would be a day 1 release .
@Rob_230 The PS5 version is currently set at 24th November
@Mpquikster Ghost is amazing. Stunning game. Fully expect it to get upgraded to PS5 with an announcement when they next talk about the multiplayer mode. Hopefully even for launch. Playing Resi 3 and its really enjoyable. 👍
Sadly i dont think i can wait on cyberpunk. Im so excited for it. I think ill definitely start the ps4 version (on my ps5) and hope the upgrade isnt far behind
@Octane NOPE! Sony owns it no because they bought Insomniac
Should have done it usa launch and uk launch, as there is more games for UK launch than USA
@KidBoruto I have watchdogs and assassins creed for uk launch nov 19th on preorder to come the same day as my console and cod will be out Nov 13th.
I have a pre-order in to be picked up at Best Buy on the 12th. Here are my plans. First to check out the UI on the PS5 for a quick minute. Next comes Astro's Playroom for a little fun and getting to know what the PS5 and all it new features offer.
My first PS5 game will be Spiderman: Miles Morales I will play that until completion. After that it will be the remaster of PS4 Spiderman, (Yes I pre-ordered the Ultimate Edition or) Cyberpunk 2077 (PS4) if its the 19th and its out. I will not pause Miles Morales but I will stop Spiderman remaster to play Cyberpunk 2077 on my PS5.
PS5 is my STOP the backlog generation! I will not buy or preorder any more games unless I very close to completion of the current game I am playing. Black Fridays sales for physical copies under $15-$20 AAA games may be a exception.
@Mafia_Man19 I think you were replying to my comment from last year. About Sunset Overdrive?
Sony owns the IP, so they can release a Sunset Overdrive 2, or whatever they want. But, Microsoft published the first game, so they can't just rerelease that on PS4/5 without Microsoft's consent.
@everynowandben Thanks for the corrections, my bad for not doing more research.
DeSo day one and Sackboy when on sale.
No Spidey because I'm annoyed about the face change to Peter.
Will get LoU2, Ghost, and RE3 when the PS5 upgraded versions are out.
Nice guide!
Will be Spiderman Miles from that list and then hopefully Cyber Punk.
Demon Souls looks great but people say it's very hard so I'm not sure about that one?
@JohnKarnes My plan is exactly as yours is, Astrobot on start up then MM, it will be tough though to ignore Cyberpunk until MM is finished as that arrives on launch too! I am thinking MM won't be as long as Spiderman was so hopefully should be onto Cyberpunk after a week or so!
@I_Like_It Before paying $70 for a Souls game, I'd really recommend checking out any dark souls games when it's cheaper on sales, or used if you're into physical. Or bloodborne or sekiro which is similar in concept but slightly different. Or nioh which is kind of souls meets Ninja gaiden, again similar design but different feel.
But souls is an acquired taste. The presentation is unique but not suited for all tastes. The gameplay.... Hard is an understatement. It's mostly based on perfect guards, perfect dodge and parries, waiting for openings. It's tight, but it's very deliberate, and it's extraordinarily punishing in terms of dying to any misstep and having to go back again. It's designed so you really have to "git gud" to really get anywhere at all. If you like being punished hard unless you practice practice practice, it's a game for you!
It's polarizing. Anyone that loves it absolutely loves it. Personally, i don't get the obsession. I mean i see the quality and balance in the design, and i own all the games.... But I never really have any fun when i give them a go. It feels like work. Nioh is the exception (made by Team Ninja, not From (Ninja gaiden)) I still suck at it, but somehow that's all fun even as i die constantly.
You may be one of the people that adores it and then needs to collect the entire From catalogue. But $70 is a steep price to find out you're not.
This remake is so pretty its tempting even me, especially since the Spiderman debacle has killed my desire to touch that mess and fund that business policy at least until a price drop, and tsushima is indefinitely on hold for me until we find out their future ps5 plans for it. But I KNOW I'd regret it....i never enjoy the From games.. ok, sekiro with the grappling is a little amusing to me...
For me, sack boy, maybe mm, but the shine has worn off now with the remaster mess, the rest is XSeX - just waiting for r&c and kensa after that.
They are really pushing their luck too far with those prices.
Watch Dogs Legion currently planned for just after launch on 24th Nov.

@Darylb88
Playstation says the PS5 version launches Nov. 12:
https://www.playstation.com/en-us/games/watch-dogs-legion/
This list matches the research I've done with one exception: Just Dance 2021. I haven't seen the PS5 version available on Nov. 12 anywhere, and the Ubisoft site says Nov. 24 when you go to the PS5 pre-order page. Of course, Ubisoft also says WD:L on Nov. 24, so maybe both on the 12th?? I'm curious as to where OP saw Just Dance on 11/12 for PS5 specifically.
Regardless, I think it's fair to say this is a complete and accurate list of games confirmed to have PS5 versions released in November.
Recent surprise announcements make me think there will be lots more available by launch day. Simple free ports of recent smaller PS4 games (e.g. Maneater). New indies getting in on it (e.g. The Pathless; maybe Bugsnax, Stray, or Volcano High up next??). AAA's going from "launch window" to launch day (e.g. NBA 2K21 & WD:L, maybe Madden or DiRT 5 next??).
I get the feeling that Sony might be pacing developers' announcements of Nov. 12 launch dates so that Sony can sell their 1st-party games first and keep excitement growing. But I wouldn't be surprised if, when I open the PS Store on my new white spaceship on Nov. 12, I have a few dozen PS5 games to choose from.
@Voloius All these retailers have put November 24th so which one is correct?
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Watch-Legion-Limited-Exclusive-Amazon-co-uk/dp/B08FC1S9YB
https://www.smythstoys.com/uk/en-gb/video-games-and-tablets/pre-order-games/playstation-5-pre-order-games/watch-dogs-legion-gold-ps5/p/192728
https://www.game.co.uk/en/watch-dogs-legion-2830947
Either way launch in the UK is November 19th so not too far off launch. It is within the launch week you could say.
@Darylb88
Yep, that's the big question, idn't it?
I'm inclined to go with what Sony says for two reasons:
1. They're the ones who actually control it. If they want to put it out on the PS Store on Nov. 12, nobody's gonna stop 'em. Maybe those retailers won't sell it till the 24th, but I'd expect Sony to move ahead with their sales regardless.
2. It's earlier. Amazon, etc. can always say "Surprise!! You're getting it earlier!" and nobody's upset. I can click through the PS pre-order and enter my credit card number and it says "Expected Release Date: November 12" and "Expected Download Date: November 10". I'm not saying it can't get delayed, but when you give people a specific date to fulfill a purchase, that's what they expect, and pushing it back is bad PR.
So it seems more likely to me that those retailers will either bump up their date or follow 12 days after the PS release, than that Sony will push it back after already taking a ton of pre-orders for the 12th.
@Voloius The publisher. If the publisher doesn't want to put their game up yet there's nothing Sony can do. That would be a huge legal issue. Retailers also sell the game on the day the publishers tell them. Sony doesn't have a lot of decision making here.
Worst console launch lineup I’ve ever seen since the Atari Jaguar only 1 game that’s exclusively next gen can you imagine the PS2 launching with nothing but slightly enhanced versions of PS1 games it’s absolutely crazy but due to lack of competition they can get away with it.
@Jaz007 OK. Do you think that's the case here? PS already has it for pre-order earlier. Are they gearin' up for a legal battle with Ubisoft?
@wizzgamer 3 or 4: Astro, Godfall, Destruction All-Stars, not sure if you want to count the DS remake. Plus at least 6 other new games at launch (MM, Sackboy, AC:V, CoD, Pathless, WD:L). Are those current-gen games ported to next-gen or next-gen games also dumbed down for current-gen? Half-empty / half-full??
@Voloius Looks like it's been cleared up now Nov 12th for Digital Release and November 24th for Physical release. Quite strange but at least we know now for sure.

(Info at bottom of article)
Most of these games are also on ps4 and pc so i only see like two exclusives ...
Was hoping for Control.
I'm actually pretty damn impressed by this lineup now. Of all those confirmed my top two are easily Demon's Souls and Spider-Man MM, but other than those I'm also really interested in Assassin's Creed, Astro Bot, Bugsnax, DMC5 (never played it first time around), Observer, Sackboy and The Pathless. That's...quite a lot! On PS4 there wasn't anything I was really excited for until Bloodborne came out.
@BansheeNorn important to know, thanks
@ShogunRok what about FIFA21? They're advertising the game as "buy the PS4 version & get a free upgrade to the PS5 version when you upgrade console" so technically that would mean it should be available day one/at launch.
Just wondering why it's not on the list?
@funkyflounder83 It'll be playable on PS5 on launch day via backwards compatibility. But I haven't seen a date for the PS5 version at any retailers, and Playstation still says the launch date is "to be confirmed": https://www.playstation.com/en-us/games/ea-sports-fifa-21/
Madden's in the same boat. I suspect they'll make both available that day, but that's just speculation on my part. It's not official yet.
@Voloius ah I see. I was wondering why we hadn’t seen any next gen gameplay for it yet. I just noticed on the PSN Store that it said it will upgrade for free so I just assumed that it would be available day & date since both the PS4 & the gen before launched with a FIFA game. Mind you on the 360 it was just a paired down International version. Thanks bud. I hadn’t even considered that it wouldn’t be ready at launch. Aw well I suppose it will improve the loading times on the backwards compatible version until we get the next gen version.
I’m thinking I’ll just be getting sackboy and another controller to play with the wife. Really waiting for R&C and GT7 to have their release dates announced.
Where’s
Planetcoaster Console Edition
Ratchet Clank?
Godfall and Demon's Souls at launch, others are from PS4
I’m excited, this is a really good line up in my opinion. I know people have different tastes, but I do feel a bit like people grumbling about the launch line up don’t remember just how thin PS4’s line up was at launch!
Wait a f************ second. Ratchet and Clank IS NOT A LAUNCH TITLE?
That must be 9 exclusives at launch, 9!! Microsoft has one if The Medium is a lunch game for the Series X and S..... it’s beginning to look a lot like a repeat of this gen.. one platform has games one doesn’t...
@AFCC Miles Morales + 2018 remaster + Ratchet and Clank = 1 busy developer = 100mil+ insatiable gamers
@Octane I think you're wrong on this. I believe Insomniac bought the rights to sunset overdrive before the Sony acquisition. If I'm right, Sony could absolutely release Sunset Overdrive on Ps5. Unless I'm confusing this with Remedy buying the rights to Alan Wake.
@mvhess That was Remedy: https://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2019-07-01-remedy-obtains-publishing-rights-to-alan-wake
I don't recall anything about Insomniac buying the Sunset IP. I can't find anything on it either.
@Octane Lol, Yeah, that was literally a stream of thought. By the time I got to the end I was like, shoot, I think I'm thinking of Remedy's deal. But I was too lazy to look it up.
@2cents I wonder how many teams they have at this point. Didn't they also make some VR games for Oculus?
@AFCC I think it was said to be holiday 2020. So not a launch title but close
I wonder what the PS5's first PS Plus games will be? I remember Resogun being a great bonus when starting up with PS4 back in the day so it'll be interesting to see what the equivalent is.
@Octane Yeah, sure and FFVII it's just the same old JRPG.
Also, Demon's Souls is not a shooter nor a sport game.
@Potatomanz
I just hope all PS5 shooters will have gyro aim, in the PS4 era was so underutilised, yet it's crucial for those kind of games (I couldn't play Days Gone without it).
@NovaPrime Which comment are you replying to?
Not to be a pedant but you are a Bull Shark in Maneater not a Great White.
@Octane The one that said that the PS5 lineup is just the same old shooters and sports games.
@NovaPrime That wasn't me. I've never said that.
@Octane
Sorry, it was @Heavyarms55 , the guy that commented above you.
@2cents I was so sure it was a launch game
Been seeing previews, and these developers need to stop putting the colored icons such as x, square, triangle, and circle in their games. There is no colored icons on the controller anymore. Spiderman devs are just being lazy since they are releasing on PS4 and PS5 so probably just figured that will do.
Prob not too big of a deal, just my OCD kicking in.
Here's a question that will inevitably be lost in the crush. How the heck do I preorder Planet Coaster Deluxe Edition? It's on the store for PS4 but not 5, and I want the bonus.
@Digit2021 it might not be on the controller, but it stands out a ton more in gameplay to have them be color coded instead of just black and white
Yeah just liked the look of the white logo prompts in Last of Us Part 2, so I thought that would become the standard.
Lol I'm not fussed I haven't got a pre order after seeing this line up. The great games will come but for me I was gonna play my PS4 library on ps5 anyway for the first few months , assassin's creed lost it since the 3rd one ended so bad, bring back the apple! watchdogs went down hill on the 2nd game , I love watchdogs one , playing a shinier version of demon souls would be good and more Spidey! Thanks for the update.
The 3rd party games on this list are on the original Xbox one to , are we gonna be charged extra for a ps5 update patch lol
Super stoked! I hope my PS5 pre-order shows up on launch day. I'll be picking up Sackboy, Miles Morales, and Demon's Souls. I'm happy to have Astrobot and Bugsnax as freebies too! C'mon November 12th, get here already!!!
Cant say im interested in any of that, not a problem since im not able to afford it just yet.
Ooh... Planet Coaster on PS5 launch ? 😀
I saw the PS4 version will be released too with PS5 version.
Hopefully the game will not so laggy on my PS4 slim because it looks so beautiful to see i can build my own fun park.

Not much there that screams Day 1 for the money they want. PS5 MK11 I have seen for £38, so that might be the only one I can afford day 1
@popey1980 You’ll have the ps collection also! But I would look at a company (google) called boomerang rentals very good! They are doing ps5 games Aswell! I have the 15.99 package and I can rent two ps4 games for how ever long I want! They post them too you via Royal Mail! I’ve used it for over a year now and haven’t got a fault wrong! You do have the option to buy the game if you like it from them. Worth a check! It eliminates that 70 buying price! (:
@DiddyWahDiddy GTA V is old news, where is GTA VI already
I could've sworn I'd previously seen Warhammer Chaosbane Slayer Edition on this list.
Lmao lists first party ps5 exclusives yet they also come out on ps4 and pc. I only see bugsnax as the real launch game.
@BansheeNorn Can't what?
FYI, most of these comments are over a year old, I have no idea which one you are replying to.
Also, Sony does own the Sunset Overdrive IP, Microsoft still owns the first game though.
@BansheeNorn
I couldn’t be less excited by the PS5 launch.
look at the games. It’s all just enhanced PS4 games. Surely they’ll look nice but what really stands out and says “yeah that makes me wanna pay the money”
Disappointed
@BansheeNorn bugsnax is also ps4 - not ps5 exclusive
The only true exclusives are Demon Souls (which is a ps3 remake) Astros Playroom, and Godfall.
@lumothesinner
Hmm yea demons souls and astro. Godfall is coming to pc as well.
@Anitax its how they drive up views and subscriptions. Some youtubers lie about it or pick the winner from a list of friends that didnt even play.
@BansheeNorn
I totally missed that - even though I knew it was timed exclusive on ps5 and probably coming to xsx soon.
Given that demon souls is a ps3 game on steriods....Astro is the only true ps5 game on day 1! Yay Astro.
I'm just desperately waiting for someone to at least be able to confirm all of these games will load faster than the Series X version. I can just about take 1000's of current gen games loading faster on the Xbox, but if future games do too, then Cerny has a lot of answer for with the SSD! 😁
@lumothesinner Godfall was never announced for XSX. Its not a timed exclusive as its playable on PC on the same day.
Aren't you about 2 years too late on this?
