@Kidfried It surprised me a lot considering it was a Kickstarter stretch goal - they really nailed it. I played it on the Vita because I love its D-pad.
Cannot wait for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. A lot of people have moaned about it but I think it looks ace!
@Kidfried Yeah, I'm not too keen on the 2.5D, preferring the lovely pixel art of Iga's Castlevania games. The 8-bit style of Curse of the Moon is really detailed and colourful.
@KratosMD If MGS4 ever got the remastered (it won't) I would jump at the chance to get it. MGSV never clicked with me for various reasons and would love to play a more 'traditional' MGS game again.

It'll make even more sense when you fully finish MGS4 too!
That game was a weird one as I think I had a blast playing it at the time but, like MGS5, it was soooo long that I was never going to replay it, whereas MGS 1-3 I must have played through loads of times each (I think I collected every dog tag in MGS2 despite there being no incentive to do so).
I take it you played Peace Walker on console though? It was one of only a few games I ever got for my PSP and was utterly enthralled by it on that. Playing it on console must be great but, again, it's not something I'd feel the urge to go back for.
Oh, and as for me, I'm working night shifts this week so will probably get another game of Civ 5 on the go on my ageing Macbook. It does get a tad annoying as the game makes it go super hot so I have to close the game down every now and again to stop it from imploding..
@KratosMD to be honest you can do MGS1 in 3 hours easily enough, and I cleared MGS2 3 times in one day in my youth (skipping cut scenes) so they are not long games. MGS1 doesn't have many long cut scenes, and MGS2 while longer tends to keep itself in check for most of the game. I'd say from memory that 4 is the longest bar 5.
But a hell of a lot of that is cut scene too, I honestly don't know how much quicker you'd get through it skipping everything. I think the longest cutscene is like.. over an hour in MGS4?
@KratosMD I was wondering this, the quickest speed run on speedruns.com is 1 hour 57 for MGS4.
1 hour 19 for MGS3.
1 hour 32 for MGS2.
1 hour 1 minute for MGS1.
I did think 3 was longer than 2 to be honest but that goes to show how long the cut scenes are in these games I guess. From memory MGS4 took me around 15-18 hours.
Received Dragon Quest Heroes Rocket Slime for the DS as a gift so I've started playing that. It was never released in Europe, but thankfully the DS is region
free (even on the 3DS the games play which is surprising). The pixel art is gorgeous and I really like the dialogue. The gameplay is simple so far, boinging around as a slime named Rocket, but it's very charming.
@KratosMD Persona 4 Arena has been in my backlog for ages so I hoping to play it soon. I didn't know that some characters shared the same story so thanks for the head up!
Since I don't have a "main" game at the moment since clearing Captain Toad, I'm just sort of jumping around.
I've recently solved a few puzzles in Picross S, did a Nightmare/Casual run in Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon, have been doing the ocassional Grand Prix or Time Trial in MK8D, and still fire up the Taiko no Tatsujin demo every other day.
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
@KratosMD Some great impressions you’re having there and I’m happy you are enjoying MGS4. It really is a great game. Are the copious and lengthy cutscenes annoying to you? I enjoyed them honestly, but I remember them being a bit too much in my second playthrough. It’s probably the most common complaint about the game that I hear.

@KratosMD I had a total blast with Borderlands 2. I quite enjoyed The Pre-Sequel too but got stuck on a boss late on. Probably need to level up a bit more. Playing as claptrap is fun plus it negates the gravity stuff which I know some found annoying.

@KratosMD@JohnnyShoulder I got onto Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode on BL2 on the PS3 until I suddenly stopped enjoying it. Such a great game and I still have it to play on the PS4.
I'm randomly on a Sonic kick (getting in some fun before starting Mafia III, I guess) and am therefore playing little bits of Shadow the Hedgehog on PS2, but also Sonic Rush on DS.
In the case of the latter, I decided to clear the cartridge save data and start over (it's the only way you can replay the story). Perhaps a bit of a mistake, as the glistening S-Ranks I'd achieved in my early twenties were suddenly replaced by my new totally-out-of-practice, abysmal C-Ranks. I don't think I'll ever be able to rebuild, but that's okay. Now that I'm a little older, measuring myself against a scoreboard is less of a thing.
All that matters is that I had a big, stupid grin on my face whilst blasting through brightly-coloured environments at breakneck speed and pulling silly dance poses whilst in mid-air. Great game, and I think I'll carry on with Sonic Rush Adventure and Sonic Colours once I'm done, alongside everything else, at least for a while.

Fatal Frame (PS2) - Started this a couple of nights ago. The translation and voice acting are pretty bad, but it's a unique, interesting horror game set in a creepy mansion.
Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Wii) - Started this one again recently. I've never actually finished this game before, so I wanted to blow through it. Still hate controlling Yoshi. Still hate the faceship. Still hate the lack of grandeur and atmosphere in this one.
Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana (Switch) - Almost 60 hours in and very close to the end, but I'm cleaning up side content now. This game is absolutely brilliant!
Currently Playing: Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut (PS4) / Prodeus (SD) / Master Detective Archives: Rain Code (NS)
@KratosMD Thanks for the recommendation, but I've played it about four times since launch (I even got the Deluxe Edition with an exclusive Play Arts Kai White Raiden figure... was so very hyped and not disappointed in the slightest). Was just curious to see what you thought of the gameplay shift and continuation of the Raiden character and wider Guns of the Patriots social commentary. There are moments later which made me get all misty-eyed, in between the screaming insanity of the combat.
Any game with a Metal Gear RAY in (my favourite Metal Gear) is an instant classic in my book, especially one where you fight one with a freakin' sword.

So I recently got hooked on Graveyard Keeper on the Xbox One. It's a fun little indy that is basically Stardew Valley but your a Graveyard Keeper instead of a farmer. Instead of planting crops you dig graves and make coffins and such. Theres a social aspect as well if you want to take part in it Very addictive game play like Stardew but it's one reason I like games like this.

@KratosMD I know what you mean about Revengeance being "cool" and not quite having the right word to describe what that "cool" exactly is. There's a style, a combination of Metal Gear themes and Platinum Games dramatic flair, that's uniquely Revengeance and difficult to nail down, but everybody who's played the game should know what you're talking about. I usually HATE music of the genre in the game, but I adore the soundtrack and listen to it often. Weird, huh?
And blimey, how many games do you have underway at any given time?!
