Finally finished the game. Like someone said, those final chapter really fly by as the story pick up pace and concludes.
I don’t want to repeat myself too much but I really love this game. There is some legitimate emotional parts and I don’t always get invested emotionally in games. The game only held back by a few minor quibbles in execution and technical. (I had one more crash right at the end, so that makes 3 total during my playthrough. If no one else has had these I guess I need to do a database rebuild and open my PS5 and see if it needs a cleaning)
As for the story and its ending, I felt for a while that the only way this was going to go would be that Hugo has to die to end the plague. So the ending didn’t surprise me, per se, but it was nonetheless emotionally griping, mainly on the back of just a great performance by the Amicia VA. A lot of the sobbing and crying moments were truly heartfelt in her portrayal.
And I was thrilled to see the way it ended did leave an opening for another sequel. They could take a more modern fantasy fictional take with the macula showing up on a new baby in the current day. Or they could make it another historical setting. They could even keep Amicia and Sophia (and Lucas, who was conspicuously absent from the epilogue chapter… where did he go?) as protagonists tracking down the order and the new bearer of the macula. Historically, Bubonic plague kept popping up through the next several hundred years in London, Italy, France, India, China until the bacteria was discovered in the late 1800’s.
A very good morning to you gang! I hope you’re all doing well? Apologies for the delay in an update I’ve been unwell for the last week or so but hopefully there is light at the end of the tunnel.
By all accounts, A Plague Tale went down a storm and I couldn’t be happier with the continued engagement so hats off to you all, I really appreciate it 👍
Your next game is Sea of Stars which appears to be being hailed as a modern classic so all very exciting. Here are some details courtesy of HLTB
As always, play the game on your platform of choice and in your own time. Please be wary of spoilers and use tags where appropriate.

As with last month I’ll ask for your suggestions and votes for March right off the bat, and in turn might give more of you chance to log in and make a contribution. Votes were on the lean side last month but seemed to work relatively well regardless.
These are the titles suggested last month for your convenience.
Tren
Teardown
Tinykin
Eiyuden Chronicle Rising
Inscryption
Life is Strange True Colors
Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons
Spider-Man: Miles Morales
@AgentCooper Thanks for the update, I vote Inscryption for March.
Get well soon and regarding the light in the tunnel, don't go into the light, turn away from it, don't even look at it.
Enjoy Sea of Stars everybody, I've had it downloaded for ages but have yet to start so now is the perfect opportunity.
@AgentCooper If you mean being pinged here then nah - this thread is always near the top of the forum anyway so I'll just drop by whenever something catches my eye
Thanks for the offer though
@AgentCooper Many thanks for the update and keeping the club alive. And fingers crossed you’re recovering fully from what ails you. And here’s hoping that at least being being unwell has afforded you extra gaming time. 😄
I’m not sure if I will be able to participate in Sea of Stars. I am certainly curious about the title and it seems to have been universally praised. Free time will be the determinant rather than interest, so we’ll see. I was actually pleased I had sufficient time in Jan to complete Requiem.
As for March, I would get behind Inscryption as a first choice. Second choice would be True Colors.

As everyone else has already said hope whatever nasty ailment you have clears up quickly @AgentCooper!
Whilst I won't be participating in game club this month (I tried the demo for SoS and wasn't a fan) I'm definitely putting a vote in for next month with Inscryption!
Maybe we won't have to do our own little thing after all @Th3solution?

Inscryption isn't incredibly long from what I know. Only about 8~10 hours @Th3solution I think so it's not that huge of an investment to pry myself away from P3R next month.
Not that I feel like playing anything at the moment thanks to this throat infection I came down with over the weekend. Feels like hot glass has been raked across the inside of my throat.
Had to call in sick for work even. Can't really teach if you can't speak and cough your lungs up every few minutes.

@Voltan Ah nay bother, understandable. Glad to have you around though friend 👍
@Th3solution Thank you kindly. I seem to be over the worst of it (I think) really took the wind out of my sails. Unfortunately I haven’t had the opportunity to capitalise on it as far as gaming goes as parents still gotta parent 🤷
@HallowMoonshadow Thank you very much, and likewise I wish you a speedy recovery, sounds very similar to what I’ve just been through.
Oh forum lords, any chance of a little bump this month, akin to the PXBGC articles? @antdickens@liamcroft be wonderful to drive some more engagement. Thanks anyway
