The next Cyberpunk game, codenamed Orion, is just beginning to flicker into life. Earlier today, Igor Sarzyński, the title's narrative director, revealed that it was his first day in CD Projekt Red's Boston office — which is where the core Cyberpunk team has relocated. Earlier this week, quest director Pawel Sasko also posted about his arrival at the new place. Exciting times for everyone involved.
"First day in the Boston office! So good to meet old friends and officially kickstart our Orion journey. I couldn't be more excited for this project and i'm sure we can make it something special. 2077 was just a warm-up," Sarzyński wrote on Twitter.
Of course, it's still going to be a long time until we see anything of Orion. CDPR is still hiring for positions in Boston, and based on further comments from Sasko, the project itself is still being workshopped. "Our core band had exciting discussions about next #Cyberpunk2077 game," he wrote.
Meanwhile, the next Witcher game appears to be CDPR's main priority at this point. Assuming that's still at least a few years off, Orion is likely an age away. Still, it's a fresh landmark for the developer as it slowly but surely wraps up its work on Cyberpunk 2077 and Phantom Liberty.

Please make it 3rd person! Loved the first game but the whole time I was playing I kept wishing for a 3rd person perspective. That's the only reason I only exclusively droves bikes.
'The next Cyberpunk game, codenamed Orion, is just beginning to flicker into life.'
I'm preordering my refund!
@Icey664 you like your people in 3rd person but you don't like external views of cars? 🤔
I might have passed from natural causes before this comes out. Lol.
This is exciting as I’m still just scratching the surface of Cyberpunk 2077. Excited to experience the rest of it along with Phantom Liberty.
@Icey664 It'd be great if they had a toggle option like Starfield did with the different 3rd person views. Would've been nice to have it, especially during the stealth sections.
Sweet. Keep it first person the same as the first game as it adds to the immersion. Awesome news.
I'll be nearly 50 then if I don't keel over before then, in which case I'll have gammy fingers because of my cleaning job. Already given up on fighting games lol.
Cannot wait for this! But this time please add a 3rd person mode! And also try to throw in the cancelled multiplayer that was supposed to happen for 2077!
Cant wait to play it day 1 again lol
Gonna get this for my PS4.
@ApostateMage By the time it comes out, the previous gen will at least be the PS5.
See you all in nightcity in 12 to 15 years fellow future geezers
Perhaps a different city?
Cyberpunk 2032
@Bunchesopuppies Night City has always been the heart of the Cyberpunk series.
I've not played it yet, I don't mind 1st person online shooters but single player games, I prefer 3rd person but I might get it since it's extremely cheap now and from what I read, it's sort of fixed of the bugs it had at launch. There's literally no reason not to add a 3rd person mode so I hope they add it on the next one.
Can we have 3rd person mode please.
@JON22 I'm sure I know the guy in your picture, you didn't happen to find my £60 did you??
Nice to see another developer expanding rather than downsizing!
Can’t wait to see the sequel and hopefully this time it will release when it’s actually done!
I hope it's closer to 2077 than Phantom Liberty and I hope they don't bow to community pressure and release it unfinished.
Neat, another game. Maybe this time they'll actually finish it.
Really appreciated that Cyberpunk was 1st person. Hope the new Witcher game is to!
Kinda surprised. Tried to play it a couple of times and never made more than an hour before playing something else. Someone convince me to play
@Deljo Spent it on my dog's medicine for her joints. £58 Loxicom. And that pic is me on Google maps after going to Aldi😂
@Ocelot I feel you. I've tried two times already but the story just doesn't catch my attention. I'll give it one more shot since I don't have anything else to play right now but if I don't make it past two hours again then I'll leave it for good.
@matekomlosi yeah I love the look of the game but it just can't get me interested. I would love to like it but struggling. I will do the same and give it one more try as I have a week or so until my next game comes out. And before anyone asks, my hour of gameplay wasn't spent deciding how big my Johnson is
@Northern_munkey truth
@NinjaNicky "No reason" except for, you know, all the additional animating, lighting, presentation, and framing work that goes into it. But yeah. No reason at all.
@MFTWrecks I would love third person. Refuse to buy it without third person. “No reason” to buy it except for, you know, snarky condescending comments that put others down for what they like. No reason at all.
@Ninerguy1608 👍
it will be too ambitious for even the ps5 pro. skip the ps5 this time and focus on the ps6 unless you want another dumpster fire launch haha.
There's only one thing I want above all else in the Cyberpunk sequel and that's a THIRD PERSON camera view!!!
I loved CP2077 and 2.0/Phantom Liberty really fixed things, but the whole time I was playing I was just wishing for a Third Person camera switch 😔 Every time I got some new gear and/or went to change my wardrobe or appearance it just took the edge off the enjoyment because the only way I could see my V properly was in the inventory or in Photo Mode... it's obviously a matter of opinion but I don't feel as immersed in a game in First Person as I do Third Person. I think that CDPR could make a lot of people happy by having both in the sequel, like they do in GTA/Red Dead/Skyrim etc.
#ThirdPersonCyberpunkPleez
Half Life 3 will be out before this. Not Silksong tho.🤣
@Porco there will be no ps4 support this time round so in theory it should be a whole lot easier for them and looking at how the engine already performs on the ps5 I can't see any reason why it shouldn't be any good.
@MFTWrecks isn't that their job though, to make a game. Fall out, GTA, Skyrim. Then you've got games like the last two Ghost Recon games and even old Zelda games and PS1 games let you switch from 3rd to 1st while aiming with a gun. I'm sure if they can do it for old games, they're more than capable of adding a 3rd person mode. GTA5 added it as an update so it's not as difficult as you make it sound. Also more game sales because more people would buy it. So yeah, plenty of reasons.
@JON22 oof, I'm the same with my dog - costs a fortune but anything to help them 👍
@Northern_munkey being in the middle of this console cycle, developers are likely considering ps6 specs knowing that their game will take 4+ years to develop. keep in mind that cyberpunk was originally announced in 2012, even before the ps4 released and we all know how that port turned out. they need to be less ambitious on the tech side of things and project manage better if there is any hope of the sequel running well on ps5. hopefully they learned something.
