CD Projekt Red has confirmed that a new patch for Cyberpunk 2077 will (probably) be dropping next week. This one's been expected for a little while now, with the game's big 2.1 update — which launched just before Christmas last year — introducing a number of (relatively minor) bugs. The hope is that the upcoming patch will solve those issues.
"We are aiming to have a new patch for #Cyberpunk2077 out sometime next week," posts the official Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account. "It will tackle the most common issues reported by players, including finisher animations. Stay tuned for more info coming after the weekend," it concludes.
Cyberpunk 2077 updates have almost always arrived on Tuesdays, so we're going to assume that this latest patch will be no different. We can likely expect patch notes on Monday, then.
Are you still playing Cyberpunk 2077? Have you been waiting for this update to fix any persistent problems? Enjoy all those gory melee weapon finishers again in the comments section below.

CyberPatch 2077.1
You need to stop trying to bring me back. I had to go to rehab in order to quit last time.
I haven't enjoyed taking my sweet time in an RPG like this in ages. It's so refreshing to be satisfied by almost every little side quest and job I find myself getting distracted by.
Finally just started it last night, it's awesome!
@Futureshark Good to know. Just finished PowerWash Simulator. and ready to move onto the next thing. Either this or God of War Ragnarok.....
Hopefully it fixes a couple of issues I've had, one with a side mission not working (the guy drops dead as soon as I approach him) and purchased vehicles not appearing in the vehicle list.
I just started Cyberpunk last week. What a game. I'm so glad I waited till it was in a good state and DLC to play it.
No higher than a 7 out of 10 for me. Just coming to the end of doing a second playthrough
I still am getting WAY Too many crashes, a little absurd.
Having said that, holy moly that world is just flat nuts. I know the CP2077/Starfield comparison is tiresome.... but it's nothing short of laughable in the difference
I'll wait until the PS5 Pro patch.
@CallMeDuraSouka I get a lot of crashes too, have to reload quite a lot also.
I hope this is the one that fixes the finishers. Everytime I do a finisher it's the same stab your character does with a knife instead of the throat slit.
@BusyOlf Yeah I just finished my third playthrough and it's a 6.5/10 for me. It's an average game, no better no worse. Actually dreading my fourth playthrough- the game gets old FAST
Hope we can reset the attributes more than once and new game plus.
Had have the game sealed since launch to January first this year.
Already played 45h in it and I am a huge fan of the franchise and i am so happy.
So after 45h only once the screen was freezing and i died and from checkpoint like nothing happened, I am very very happy with the game.
@StonyKL two great but very different games. Personally I think Ragnarok is a better game but it all depends what kind of experience you're looking for
From what I can tell, I'm nearly done with Phantom Liberty, so I doubt I will be still playing the game when the patch drops. Still, it's nice to see them step in and release another one even after saying 2.1 was the final one.
@Splat You can never truly leave Night City...
Absolutely outstanding game.
Got the plat a few months ago and put in 100 hours on the base game.
Not a single crash on my ps5.
Such a shame it didn't release in the state it's finished.
Easily my game of the year for 2023.
Still have phantom liberty waiting to be played and I've heard that's even better.
9.5/10
@gipsojo So you obviously think very little of this remarkable game, and that is your truth, I'm not disputing it but why " dread " playing through the game again if you clearly think so little about it?
There's many a game that didn't sit well with me that many loved but I've never played through a game multiple times unless I loved it...I'm fascinated and confused with your comment.
Please enlighten me.
@GuttyYZ I'm actually glad to hear this almost, I really wondered if I'd borked my save file some how. I think turning off cross saves did help a little
@gipsojo Is this sarcasm? Why would you play an average game 4 times?
It's about damn time this patch released. They release an "ultimate edition" with bugs because once again, they rushed the release to get it out before Christmas. CDPR clearly never learnt their lesson. The constant praise they recieve is undeserved IMO even if I do love Cyberpunk to death.
Playing welcome to night city mod collection from nexus. Pirated version 2.1 so it will never update and break mods.
But no stranger to the ps5 version over 500 hours last year I take things slow keep dex waiting in the car while I do the first area of ncpd side missions. Then after the heist with Jackie finish the rest of them after talking to takemura in the cafe. There is a plaque named after me in the memorial im ****** the tortoise
@gipsojo 🤔 this is a joke, riffing off of OP? Complaining a game gets boring fast but squeezing out a 4th playthrough? There must be better games (in your opinion) to spend time on.
@gipsojo Uhm... ok so... why play it? Especially when youve beat it more than once.
@gipsojo. Don’t you recognize a sarcasm when you hear it Charlie Brown? I guess a lot of people here don’t. I thought it was the funniest thing that I read tonight.
Great game, played to death since PS4 pro days. Just waiting for a decent price drop for my steam deck.
I've finished the main game and phantom liberty which were outstanding. I've left the game installed on my machine as there's still a lot of side quests and gigs to do and will likely go back to it at some point. I'm also quite curious to see how playing through as female V would be and how they'd handle the interactions with Johnny.
@Geminisundone same. I am mythed by that post as well. Why play a game you dislike and dread playing 😂
I want FSR3 frame generation. Same with Starfield but have the FG mods working now anyway. Took so bloody long.
@xeofate he'd give her one.
