So I am borrowing this idea from Nintendolife. This thread is to discuss whatever you want so that way we don't derail other threads. You having a bad day at work and need to vent? You want to discuss plans this weekend? Just please keep it within the community rules please.
good idea BUT is there anyway to pin it to the home page so it doesn't vanish otherwise people might stop using it

Hey y'all! Even though I've been around here since before the last off-topic thread started, I never saw it. Strange!
Unfortunately I've been kinda sick all week. Nothing terrible, but just the right amount of sickness to not be able to get anything done. Hoping everyone here has had a better week.
I've been working like a dog. Getting home and the phone keeps ringing. Hoping for a peaceful weekend, a couple of beers and going to dive into Xenoblade Chronicles 2
@Quintumply My advent calendar is a Milky Bar, I love playing computer games and reading comics and I'm 42. I've come to realise as I get older that I don't care what society thinks that I should do, I'm doing things that make me happy. I bought myself a LEGO Star Destroyer a few months back and I've got about 10 Scalextric sets that me and my younger brothers and my father-in-law enjoy playing with. He is 64!
@crippyd Ah I love Milky Bar! And I totally agree that you should do what makes you happy and not worry about what others think. I sing in a choir with a bunch of really lovely folks of all ages, and last weekend we performed some Christmas songs in the open air to a huge crowd before Santa arrived to switch the lights on. Has a really nice community feel
@Quintumply mine was just a round chocolate button because mine is a chocolate button advent calendar
love me some chocolate buttons ^_^

@Quintumply I went out into the snow, yes SNOW yesterday to buy my daughters an advent calendar. They have a cadburys and fair trade one because that was all that was left in the shop. #bestdadever.
Other than that, I have had a hell of a hard week at work and got so much to do before christmas. Hoping to actually chill this weekend but will more than likely be putting up christmas decorations and buying gifts etc.
Now I may be an idiot, but there's one thing I am not sir, and that sir, is an idiot
I actually just found out those were called advent calenders the other day lol. I saw one at the store the other day and I said oh look it's one of those calenders with the chocolate in them, which my friend replied oh you mean an advent calender. I then said is that what they're called. Lol

Advent calendars are really uncommon around here. It's something that grandma's do rather than kids or adults. I suppose it all has to do with Christmas not being that big of a thing anyway.
It's cool hearing about them, though!
@crippyd Being an adult actually means not caring about what other people think you should or shouldn't do. Don't let them tell you otherwise!
I think comics and games isn't necessarily only for kids anyway. Sure, people of all ages can enjoy Mario and Donald Duck. But stuff like Watchmen and Metal Gear Solid was made with an adult audience in mind. What comics do you read?
I had to leave the house early this morning. I forgot to eat my advent calendar chocolate. I have two children. I think we all know it's gone.
let us have a moment of silence for Gremio108's lost Advent Chocolate
may it rest in peace
