In just a handful of hours, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will release on PS5 via its Deluxe Edition. Marking the first moment it's available to the public, you'd rightly expect reviews from media outlets to have been published by now to help you decide whether it's worth picking up or not — including our own. However, that's not what is happening with Suicide Squad.
Push Square finds itself in the same predicament as every other gaming website looking to share its own Suicide Squad verdict: review code won't be sent out until tomorrow's release day, and so we can't bring you timely coverage of the PS5 title. This is a fairly common practice for live-service games that rely on active servers to play, but it was hoped access would be provided slightly earlier than launch day due to the fact you can play the game on your own.
Therefore, we'll start work on our Suicide Squad PS5 review at the same time everyone else begins playing. We'll look to post some early impressions as soon as possible, then deliver a comprehensive review early next week. Liam Croft will provide the site's verdict, who has a fondness for the Batman: Arkham titles and an interest in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
Are you waiting for review to hit, or do you want to jump into Suicide Squad straight away? Let us know your plans in the comments below.

Its at the same place IGN's review is.
Really bad sign when the Publisher has made sure reviews come out after its released.
The 6 out of 10 vibes are real.
It’s an online live service game first and foremost. Doesn’t make sense to send out review codes early imo. But equally don’t expect buyers
No hurry, folks. I was in the alpha, and I wasn’t all that impressed with it.
Relax, no need anyway
Lost me at ‘live service’
Screw the review, State of Play this Wed afternoon (for the US).👍
So they are banking on people dumping down the cash for it because its a DC game by Rocksteady before they get the chance to read its a pile of 💩. Smart move. Shady as hell but smart. I however will be riding my segway around Hawaii beating up punks and delivering fast food.
@DennisReynolds not exactly, because IGN were told they wouldn't be getting a code at all (they're still reviewing it but had to buy the game, deluxe edtion for early access too)
This is one of the few self-aware games that goes straight to its ending after starting a new game just to avoid tormenting its buyer.
@Voltan Kinda defeats the narrative that IGN are paid off.
@Voltan @DennisReynolds
It sure seems like retaliation for their negative preview article, doesn't it?
It's going to be the biggest flop of 2024.
Completed it mate.
Pre ordered. Can’t wait to play this.
Death to all live service games, AMEN
some people already completed it after an hour. live service more like DOA
Looks like a 5 or 6 incoming on the reviews. Wait for sale like I did with Gotham Knights and actually had fun with that
Never a good sign when review codes are not sent out early. Such a tragic downfall for one of the best AAA studios. Spending 9 years to produce a live service mess like this is sad. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the studio gets shut down after this.
"live service" is not an excuse. When Ultima Online went out, there was a pre-release period where journalists and a selection of people could play the game. And the server would reset the day of the official launch. Same for Asheron's Call, it was open for everyone during a couple of days before the official release so that people could try and provide feedback for day 1. From my experience, publishers not sending a review copy is synonym of a big fail in perspective.
@Anguspuss well they still collect $70 even if people finish it after an hour
Seems more hyped game than normal are turning out to be DOA. Anthem, Forespoken, Avengers, that Werewolf game, and now this. You'd think lessons would have been learned after the Avengers debacle. I know it's a risk putting out new titles, but developers are shooting themselves in the foot in a dozen different ways. What's going on?
This is looking like a train wreck and we are positively seeing the end of Rocksteady as we know them, I think the entire studio could be folded into WB Montreal with lots of people losing their jobs.
Is the worst game of 2024 coming out this early? Suicide Squad is going to be on end of year lists... probably not the lists they wanted though.
Not confident the game will be worth anyone's time.
Can't wait for all the reviews to pour in, should be entertaining reading. I know I'm not spending one pound until I see those scores first especially since I'm all digital
As someone who blindly bought the deluxe edition, I'm really hoping this turns out great. Guess I will find out at midnight (6 more hours)
Just watching the scenes for this game makes it is so hard to suspend your disbelief.
Can we have a review on Granblue fantasy relink instead?
Remember guys it's still set in the same universe as the past games yet joker is somehow alive, deadshot is now an "imposter" and Will Smith is now the real one, the charles dickens book tramp guy and shark guy are supposed to also be dead and harley has been subjected to the face off treatment meaning she's had her face cut off and put onto someone else because the harley in this game doesn't act or look nothing like arkham harley with that Minecraft steve box face.
My insane belief is that all these random superhero games are going to be costly failures. I hope I'm right, it'd be nice to see some creativity back in the AAA scene. Throw all the Star Wars games in the pile too, ugh....
From the gameplay I've seen, it's not looking great. Graphics are ok but the gameplay looked like I'd be bored after 30 minutes.
Next thing you know, the games delayed release for another 5 years.
Unfortunately for Rocksteady, this could be the end.
Not entirely their fault.
I've read all the previews and they keep saying they wanted to make a genre defying game and a unique new take on the arkham verse.
This has been said many times. This is just a lie from the developers to convince themselves because they no what they have made isn't what they wanted for the arkham verse.
It took 9 years to make this.
But this is the truth and reality of what happened.
Rocksteady wanted a break from batman. They fancied making a easy going looter shooter in-between their epic single player games.
They worked on it for a couple of years and was probably ready for a reveal.
WB didn't like that and thought it wouldn't make them enough money so they demanded they make it into a dc game.
With work already done for the easy going looter shooter, they couldn't just scrap it but push a dc story into the game they had already made. To kuch time and money had already gone.
This is why its taken this long for this type of game not because this is the game they wanted for their arkham verse but because they had to figure out a way of shoehorning their main line story into this game.
I whole heartdly believe they had suicide squad as a story concept for the next dc game but I truly believe that this was not ment to be the dc game but a small trial and error game to experiment with live service
Please just let this flop hard, that would be the best result for gaming in general.
Not off to a good start.
Not excited for the game. Am excited for the media storm and YouTube videos as it gets panned.
Bought the popcorn already. Can’t wait.
After seeing what they did to B-man and Kevins final performance, I will not be buying this nor any other rocksteady product ever again. Disgraceful.
