Prominent Persona leakers are suggesting Atlus will be offering up the post-game expansion The Answer for Persona 3 Reload as DLC "within the fiscal year". A piece of content that didn't make it into the upcoming PS5, PS4 remake, it was only part of the PS2 version Persona 3 FES. The playable female character isn't in Persona 3 Reload either, but it's been claimed she's not in any post-launch expansion plans yet.
The Answer was a piece of content that took place after the events of the main game and focused more on combat than any social linking and relationships. It featured new characters and was designed around the hard difficulty mode. One of the criticisms levelled at Persona 3 Reload is that it feels incomplete without this extra content, but the plan — at least according to those who claim to be in the know — is to make it available as DLC after launch. That's at least a better compromise than Persona 5 Royal, which required you to buy an entirely new game to access the new content.
We published our Persona 5 Reload PS5 review yesterday, awarding it a 9/10. Addressing the missing content, we said: "When it comes to the gameplay loop and the treatment of its core cast, Reload is easily the best version of Persona 3 — but it's still difficult to call it definitive. That's because the additional parts of enhanced re-release Persona 3 FES and PSP port Persona 3 Portable aren't included — and so we're still stuck with four separate incarnations of what is essentially the same game."
Now, there may already be plans to fix at least some of that. Do you hope this rumour is true? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

I'm probably one of the few people who actually likes The Answer narratively and gameplay wise (Though Reload could certainly spruce up The Abyss of Time a little) so... I hope it's true!
I dont mind this.
Its significantly better than releasing another version (like FES, Golden (ish) or Royal) 1-2 years later and asking players to buy and complete the whole game again. Granted the additions in Golden and Royal were spread throughout the game, but this would be a step forward for Atlus
Oh I can see ATLUS doing this and then doing a whole other game with the FeMC... because it just gives them more versions to be sold
Base game
Base game + The Answer DLC
FeMC base game
FeMC base game + The Answer 1.5 DLC
Persona 3 Re-assembled Ultra Deluxe
Gods, I hope I'm wrong.
I'll wait a year or two until they release Reloaded and then the definitive version, Re-reloaded.
Let me guess they will be charging for this DLC? If so then that's disgusting, cutting content they knew people would really want and then charging £15-£20 for it later. Atlus are just continuing to decline in my eyes.
@HallowMoonshadow
I liked it too myself although I did think it could have been cut down a bit too. Plus the Answer actually had one of my favorite songs of all of P3 as well.
I would certainly welcome it as DLC as well.
Here we go again. It's absolutely messed up at Atlus!
While not the most frugal option, what's it going to be, $20 at most? That's less than what you'd pay for lunch and a drink these days.
Sega do love screwing gamers over with DLC lol
@slips666 Missing the point. What's the point in developing a remake to a game from almost 20 years ago if you're going to cut off the epilogue and resell it as DLC?
It'd be one thing if there had never been a definitive version and after developing the remake the developers went, "Hmm... You know, this story is incomplete. We feel inspired to add more to it". But this was intentional and pretty anti-consumer
How to make the most money out of one game, and only make it once in 2024:
Step 1: think of the game
Step 2: think of DLC
Step 3: make the game with enough plot points to valid a DLC.
Step 4: release unfinished game
Step 5: release DLC
Step 6: release definitive edition
Step 7: release ultimate edition on next console with secret DLC that was done years ago.
Well I won't be able to buy it day 1, as I've still got a long way to go, to complete like a dragon 8. So I guess I'll wait for a complete edition for persona 3. Next game I'll buy will be granblue fantasy relink:)
And this is exactly why I don't give any more of my hard-earned money to scummy Atlus.
@Alexface I agree DLC is better than releasing the complete version AGAIN as a standalone, but it really shouldn't be necessary to split up a 15+ year old game for a remaster at all.
@Brydontk I can appreciate your perspective, it would be nice to have it all packaged together if you're looking at something like a physical collector's edition. For me, it's not that big of a deal.
I'm so glad I'm not an invested fan of ATLUS games because good god they're scummy
Hope The Answer doesn't have that ***** difficulty like the og version
Gotta love corporate greed!
@xshinox agree lol
I've never played The Answer but all I heard was how bad certain parts were. I think I'll be okay with just the base game since I don't really want to give SEGA even more money after pre-ordering the standard edition.
I'm noticing a pattern:
"This is a disgrace, I'm absolutely outraged. Continues to give Atlus and Sega money"
If you don't value your own principles, don't expect anyone else to - especially corporations.
There goes Altus the business being a business again. If you don't want it, vote with your wallet. As a first time player I'll want it so I will be getting it (Hoping it won't just be locked to hard mode this time around).
Not sure i'm interested tbh. The answer adds nothing of note to the story. It's mostly just an end-game dungeon.
Unless they somehow add more value to it, i'm perfectly fine with the base game.
That's so messed up
