This somehow completely passed us by when it was announced several months ago, but a new detail has just surfaced, and a baby's gotta do what a baby's gotta do. Rugrats: Adventures in Gameland is in development for both PS5 and PS4, and it's an old school 2D platformer that's about as 90s as you can get. Developed by The MIX Games and Wallride, it'll be making its debut in March 2024, published by Limited Run Games.
Primarily inspired by NES-era side-scrollers, you'll play as Tommy, Chuckie, Phil, and Lil either alone or in two-player co-op. Each baby has their own unique abilities you'll need to make use of as you explore several larger-than-life levels. You can either play with pleasantly retro 8-bit graphics, or instead opt for HD visuals, which ape the cartoon show's art style.
It's now roughly a month away, though we don't know the precise date yet. Still, are you excited to play Rugrats: Adventures in Gameland? Have a cookie in the comments section below.

I loved the Rugrats games growing up on PS1. I'd pick this up for nostalgia's sake.
Ugh, this is something I didn’t know I subconsciously wanted. Rugrats was my childhood in the 90s, and this somehow looks solid. Maybe I won’t look so weird playing the game in front of my wife if I say I bought it for our daughter? Lol.
"a baby's gotta do what a baby's gotta do" YES! Time to pull the screwdriver out of my diaper! I am getting this day one for sure!
Might get depending on price. Always loved Rugrats.
What I would pay for a "Aaahh!!! Real Monsters" snes game remake.
I replayed Search for Reptar a couple of years ago, the camera was so awful but if they are doing ports... give me a PS5 emulation collection along with Studio Tour and In Paris. I need more dancing Reptar in my life.
@AinsleyE I remember playing search for raptor when I was 8 on PS1, would definitely platinum it if it got a remaster lol.
I hope there is a 120fps mode and a ray tracing quality mode.
Ready to preorder… digitally. Sorry LRG.
Rugrats! I adored the show.
This kind of fake 8/16bit look never fails to remind me of PG engine games more than anything else.
Always loved Rugrats. This looks surprisingly awesome.
But if does turn out to be terrible, you've already got your review tagline... "It's bad, Tommy. Real bad" 😂
The HD version looks really good.
