Near the end of last year, we asked the Push Square community to vote for their most anticipated PS5 games of 2024. Over 11,500 votes were cast across 50 games, and it's fair to say that the results are very tightly packed.
Below, we've gathered the top 20, based on your votes. We've also included the number of votes and percentage of the total vote per game.
Thanks to everyone who took part!
20. Little Nightmares 3 - 186 votes (2%)
19. The Plucky Squire - 187 votes (2%)
18. Helldivers 2 - 210 votes (2%)
17. Granblue Fantasy: Relink - 228 votes (2%)
16. Pacific Drive - 229 votes (2%)
15. Alone in the Dark - 235 votes (2%)
14. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League - 247 votes (2%)
13. Metaphor: ReFantazio - 256 votes (2%)
12. Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown - 298 votes (3%)
11. Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 - 300 votes (3%)
10. Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered Starring Lara Croft - 330 votes (3%)
Another fine example of nostalgia being an incredibly powerful tool, the original PS1 Tomb Raider trilogy is getting the re-release treatment, complete with slightly better looking textures. Snark aside, though, we're still surprised that this remastered collection is so high on the list. Here's hoping that this turns out to be the top quality revival that Ms. Croft deserves.
9. Tekken 8 - 333 votes (3%)
We're with you on this one — Tekken 8 looks fantastic. It's been almost seven whole years since Tekken 7 hit PS4, and this PS5 sequel really does look like the generational leap forward that players have been asking for. With 32 characters at launch, a full suite of single-player modes, and modernised online netcode (we hope!), Tekken 8 should be a knockout.
8. Persona 3 Reload - 467 votes (4%)
The remake of a truly beloved RPG, Persona 3 Reload has looked pretty much spot on in all of the gameplay previews we've seen up until this point. In particular, we're looking forward to a much improved turn-based combat system that clearly takes a lot of cues from Persona 5's incredibly stylish effort. All signs point to this being an early 2024 treat for both returning players and newcomers to the Dark Hour.
7. The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered - 542 votes (5%)
Hold on, how is this here? Going by all your comments, we thought no one actually wanted a remaster of The Last of Us Part 2? Yet here we are in seventh place, with a whopping 542 votes. Now look, we know The Last of Us Part 2 isn't even that old and we know that the PS4 version already runs brilliantly on PS5, but that new survival mode looks banging, doesn't it? And hey, the $10 upgrade path probably silenced a lot of criticism as well.
6. Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth - 554 votes (5%)
RGG Studio seems to have thrown everything at Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. It somehow looks even more insane than Yakuza: Like a Dragon, with perfectly dumb protagonist Ichiban waking up naked on the shores of Honalulu. Promising better turn-based battles, yet more job variety, and a shocking degree of dedication to stupidly in-depth side activities, Infinite Wealth is practically nailed on as one of 2024's finest. Don't let us down, Ichiban!
5. Black Myth: Wukong - 704 votes (6%)
A sentence that once seemed completely unrealistic: Black Myth: Wukong is actually on the horizon. Game Science's stunning action game finally got a release date at last year's The Game Awards, and while there's still plenty of time for the project to be hit with yet another delay, you lot are quite clearly hyped for this Chinese mythology-based adventure. Indeed, there's a good reason why everyone seems to lose their mind when a new Wukong gameplay video pops up.
4. Dragon's Dogma 2 - 789 votes (7%)
Dropping a lot sooner than many anticipated, Dragon's Dogma 2 could honestly take fantastical action RPGs to another level. At this point, there's no reason not to trust in Capcom's action game expertise, and this sequel already has an exemplary template to build upon. For our money, the original Dragon's Dogma is still one of the greatest action RPGs that money can buy — and so the thought of a full-blown follow-up is enough to make us drool. And you agree, apparently!
3. Rise of the Ronin - 834 votes (7%)
A PS5 exclusive from Team Ninja, Rise of the Ronin has been rather reluctant to step out from the shadows — but the lack of information hasn't stopped it from cleaving its way into the top three of your most anticipated games list. The samurai resurgence that Ghost of Tsushima kickstarted is still alive and well, it seems, and with such an experienced development team behind it, we've got high hopes for Rise of the Ronin.
2. Star Wars Outlaws - 1,070 votes (9%)
Ubisoft Massive's ambitious open world take on Star Wars has come close to topping this most anticipated games list, which we suppose is testament to how good the project's gameplay previews have looked. While we're not totally convinced Outlaws will actually make it out in 2024 — it was previously delayed beyond March — we get why it's racked up so many votes; the promise of a proper open world adventure set in the Star Wars universe is always going to pull people's attention. Let's hope it eventually delivers!
1. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth - 1,595 votes (14%)
Leading the list by some distance, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is the Push Square community's most anticipated PS5 game of 2023. And we think that's quite impressive, because Square Enix could have so easily botched the return of Cloud and co. with Final Fantasy 7 Remake, but here we are, eagerly awaiting the next chapter in this promised trilogy. Quite frankly, we can't wait to see how things pan out in Rebirth, both from a story perspective and in terms of gameplay evolution. Don't cock this up, Square.
So there you have it — these are Push Square readers' most anticipated games of 2024. Are you happy with the order? Would you swap anything around? Share your hype for the year ahead in the comments section below.

I think that's a really solid list. Well done everyone!
I’m possibly a sceptic here but Star Wars and FFVII aside, what a step down from 2023 this year is shaping to be…
Not every year can be a banger though I guess.
@vyseofhr As a colossal weeb, I couldn't disagree more.
But yeah, the release schedule doesn't quite have the broad appeal of 2023 yet. But there's still plenty of time for loads of games to be announced!
Personally can't wait for mudrunner expeditions. After sinking we'll over 10000 hours between mudrunner and snowrunner, im eager for more mud plugging adventures
How a remake of a game 2/3 years old and that was massively divisive among fans got the number 7 spot i will never understand.
@vyseofhr was thinking the same after reading through it.
Some titles stand out but after all the hype on this site about 2024 being a stunning year I don't see it happening lol
@MrGilly69 wow did you actually put over 10,000 hours in those games 😯
Star Wars, Rise of the Ronin and Black Myth: Wukong are my most anticipated with Star Wars definitely top of that list!
Still got quite a few 2023 games to clear too, including BG3!!!
As a JRPG fan this year is looking incredible.
Surprised Suicide Squad is there, guess talking smack about services is cool but doesn't stop you from wanting them if they have something you like.
I still find it crazy that most of these 'most anticipated' titles are dropping super early 2024. What could these devs possibly have in store for us in the latter half of the year
Whatever it is, 2024 is starting off very strong
I can’t recall if I voted or not but currently most looking forward to playing Plucky Squire on that list. We’re getting FF7R2 for my kid for their birthday so we’ll all be watching them play that when they get home from college next summer. I still haven’t played GoWR or Spider-Man 2 so happy to have some time for the backlog this year.😁
Oh and Ghost of Tsushima which I bought years ago but keep forgetting I own as I waited for the PS5 version which I never spent the $10 to upgrade though I did buy the dlc on sale for $10. Thought the upgrade was included, opps.🤷🏻♂️
Mostly hoping for a Switch 2 and new 3D Mario by next Christmas, along with long overdue Mario Kart 9.
How is Dragon's Dogma 2 sooner than anticipated? We've known about its development since before DMCV came out in 2019. On the contrary, I'd say it's late but it will definitely be worth the wait.
I don't find any of these games particularly exciting, good thing I still have plenty to play from a pretty incredible 2023!
Ronin is my most anticipated PS5 game this year, love Team Ninja.
Wo long was awesome last year as well!
LAD Infinite Wealth and FF7 Rebirth are the golden duo for me. Nothing else this year will come close to how much I'm looking forward to playing those two juggernauts.
@Cherip-the-Ripper sure did. The hours are still going up in snowrunner, the game is massive with all the seasons the devs have added. The first map took me almost 75 hours to 100%. There's about 12 maps so far.
I would say it’s a good list. Last of us 2 ps5 and Sucide squad are questionable though.
After what was a ridiculous 2023, this list is pretty weak in all honesty (with the exception of FF7R).
Looks like 2024 might be a bit of a lean year.
Did you mean this year, @UltimateOtaku91, or actually 2025?
I agree, @TheGreyandTheRed. I don't think 2024 will match 2023 in terms of quality. In many ways I don't actually mind that; I bought several games during the course of 2023 that I have yet to play, so a weak 2024 will hopefully provide me with the necessary time to work through my backlog... 😊
My only anticipated release for 2024 is Tomb Raider for now, I've been looking forward to playing these games again for a while so this is well received. FF7 is interesting, but I keep bouncing off part 1 so I dunno.
Hoping Silent Hill 2 Remake gets released this year. Definitely my most anticipated game as of right now.
I'm anticipating GOW Ragnarock and FFXVI on Plus Premium, if that counts.
Ichiban, Arisen, Kay Vess and Lara Croft for me.
I don't remember voting in this, so probably didn't.
A few in that top 10 that hold no interest for me personally but looks like a solid enough list.
TLOU2 remaster making top 10 😂
Personally my eyes are on Pacific Drive, DD2, Rise of Ronin, P3R and Wukong.
Also hoping Prince of Persia turns out to be a decent effort as well.
@Fiendish-Beaver oops lol I meant this year.
Rebirth, Dragon’s Dogma, and Tekken make this year solid already to me.
Throw in Pacific Drive, Plucky Squire, and Ultros, perhaps Wukong, and jeez, my year is already half booked and that’s without considering that this year may be a step up for Gamepass this year as well!
The year of Final Fantasy for me, between Rebirth and Dawntrail. I’ll still look for atlas games too.
For the first half of 2024 (with a confirmed date) i'd say:
5) Persona 3R
4) Rise of The Ronin
3) Yakuza 8
2) Dragon's Dogma 2
1) FF7 Rebirth
Honorable mention: Pacific Drive and Prince of Persia
For the second half at the moment only Metaphor ReFantazio
Not surprised Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is #1. I know it's my most anticipated upcoming PS5 release for 2024 so far.
I am also looking forward to Alone in the Dark and Black Myth: Wukong.
I am remaining cautiously optimistic about Star Wars Outlaws. It's already shaping up to be interesting from what little we have seen, but until we see the final product, I want to reserve some hype.
I am on the fence about Rise of the Ronin.
Agree with the Top 3!
Who voted for the Tomb Raider games at 10 though? Did you see the announce trailer?! These are lazy upgrades. Where's the full remake some of the biggest games in history actually deserve? In fact... where is our new Tomb Raider game for the PS5? It really is a toss up between Tomb Raider and Donkey Kong for the worst gaming franchise management this console generation.
I can't believe TLoU2 "Remastered" is number 7. Gamers, man.
There's 3 I'm anticipating. Star Wars, Ronin and Black Myth, but I'm also anticipating some reveals and announcements from third party studios that have kept quiet for a while and the Sony Squad.
Gotta chuckle at the people who are in disbelief that TLoU2R is on here.
It's been a hugely successful IP and season 1 of TLoU was one of the best shows of 2023 that has introduced even more people to the franchise.
Final fantasy 7 rebirth speaks for itself, but I'm buzzing for Tekken 8. Have a feeling this could be the greatest fighting game of all time!
@QualityGeezer "Have a feeling this could be the greatest fighting game of all time!"
Clearly you've never played the actual GOAT regarding fighting games.
I can only mean the one and only, Shaq Fu.
Yes this is sarcasm and Tekken 8 looks really good even though I don't follow the franchise.
@vyseofhr Yeah think this year will be nowhere near the overall quality last year was. Hoping for some surprises.
Too many remasters in that list. People are way too easily pleased.
But yeah, outside of Star Wars which will inevitably be placed in 2025 and maybe Alone in the Dark, literally none of these are a bit of me. I’ll sit through this year completing BG3 and be scammed into F1 24 and leave it at that I reckon!
Like a Dragon and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth for me. I’m still not sure about Rise of the Ronin!
Yay, Tomb Raider made the top 10. It’s probably the only game I’ll buy in the first half of the year. None of the others are speaking to me yet, other than Star Wars.
Suicide Squad being ahead of Helldivers 2 is a damn crime. The heck is wrong with ya'll?
LAD Infinite Wealth and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth are my most anticipated for the year. Will have my eye on Rise of the Ronin, Stellar Blade, P3 Reload, Granblue Fantasy Relink and Metaphor though. Just those two are the priority cause nothing compares to them for me
Rise of the Ronin and dragons dogma will be rubbed all over my ps5
@Paramahansa TLOU pt.II Remastered has been the number 1 pre-ordered game on PSN in my region since the day it went up for pre-order. It’s ahead of Tekken, Like a Dragon, FFVII Rebirth, DD2 etc. This doesn’t include upgrades either.
The number 2 game currently is Suicide Squad Deluxe Edition(£99.99).
The reality of the world is generally very different than what video game websites might imply.
Looking at that list, I probably want to play at least 15 of them… gonna be another good year by the looks 🤩
Tomb Raider for PS4 and Dragon's Dogma 2 for The Tub o' Lard. Will look at Star Wars Outlaws but I suspect that'll be delayed at least twice...
Removed - trolling
I'm.really surprised to see TLOUS2 remaster so high on the list
Rise of the Ronin and FF7 Rebirth can't wait, only like 8 weeks for ff7😱 then a month later rise of the ronin gonna be a blazing start to the first quarter
@MikeOrator Ah, someone else who can arrive to a conclusion logically, I appreciate you.
@MikeOrator "Now only the real fans are left" Lol ok.
@Nepp67
You know, the real fans. The ones who are here for the entire journey of this story and not just to digitally cosplay as a gruff old dude saving a princess...AGAIN... <insert eye roll>
Tekken 8 and FF7R are the two that I most want to play. Other than those not much else really stands out for me as a must play. Good year to get through my backlog and finally get to Baldur’s Gate 3.
Really hoping Dragonball sparking zero releases this year
@MikeOrator Huh??
I have no real interest in playing the original Tomb Raider games again, but if I had to choose, I'd pick Anniversary over the original Tomb Raider. From the list I'd say Dragon's Dogma has my attention the most, cautiously optimistic.
For me its dragon dogma 2 at number 1.rise of the ronin at number 2.black myth wukong at number 3.final fantasy 7 rebirth and granblue fantasy relink.etc.word up son
Once Infinite Wealth drops...begin...the JRPG onslaught will.
The first half of 2024 seems pretty stacked for me:
1. FF7R: Rebirth
2. Dragon's Dogma 2
3. Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth
4. Persona 3 Reload
I am also keeping an eye on Rise of the Ronin, Granblue Fantasy, Black Myth Wukong, and ReFantazio.

Dragons Dogma 2 getting some love warms my cold heart.
There’s not a whole lot I’m looking forward to this year but that just makes this a backlog year, which I’m cool with. I’m sure more games I’m interested in will be announced, anyway.
Here is what I’m looking forward to:
There are a few other titles I’m keeping an eye on but those 5 titles are all I'm really excited for lol.
Bring on the announcements!
@MrGilly69 blows me away as well. I found it to be my least favorite game I’ve ever played from Naughty Dog. Gave it a fair shake but couldn’t finish it.
@MrGilly69 so glad I read your comment. Didn't even know a new Mud Runner was coming out. Loved those games. Only downside was the emptiness. I'd like to have had some AI driving around. The new one looks right up my street.
Star Wars Outlaws (Ubisoft hate) and Last of Us Part 2 (Neil Druckman hate) being in the top 10 anticipated games indicates to me, that prevailing opinion on social media from the usual rage-baiting content creators, does not tell the entire story of what actual video game enthusiasts want or like.
Little Nightmares wayyy to low, nobody deserves games aha
Like A Dragon: IW is my game of the year already (unsurprising considering my username and profile pic) as there's no way I won't love it. FF7 rebirth is pre-ordered so that will be Q1 of 2024 taken care of and most of Q2 will be filled with RE4, LAD: Ishin and LAD: Gaiden when I replay them and get the platinums for the PS4 version of those games to go with the PS5 plats.
The rest of the year will be made up of 2023's games (FF16, Spider-Man 2, Dead Space etc) I didn't get around to as not much else excites in the list.
Love Tomb Raider and semi recently replayed the original 5 on Steam so looking forward to that but will probably play on Switch. Really enjoy fighting games (specifically Tekken) but hate the constant DLC so will probably skip Tekken despite 7 being the first game I bought on PS4
Removed - flaming/arguing
Rise of the ronin is my most anticipated game. I can’t wait to see more of it. Looks unreal
Was Stellar blade on the list cos I'm shocked it wasn't in the top 10, let alone top 20.
Helldivers 2 been so far down is disappointing, I'm hoping they will do a beta later this month.
Never been a big fan of Star Wars.
1. Dragon's Dogma 2
2. FF7R: Rebirth
3. Rise of the Ronin
4. Granblue Fantasy: Relink
5 Metaphor: ReFantazio
6. Persona 3 Reload
7 Last of Us 2 remaster
8. The Plucky Squire
9.Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered Starring Lara Croft
@Nepp67 I'm not sure why, but I think they were looking for a fight.
I still havn't played the series, so if they bundle em for 60 I might bite
Removed - flaming/arguing
@CallMeDuraSouka That is why Im not wasting my time on him. He thinks anyone else's opinion that doesn't agree with him as wrong so it's pointless(And a waste of energy) for me to even try to debate with him. Also yeah give the series a try and see what you think of it!
Wait, there are games coming out next year that aren’t Final Fantasy VII Rebirth?!?!
Removed - flaming/arguing
A lazy remaster at #7, have some shame those of you who voted.
Love it when sonys only real exclusives which have been shown off apart from wolverine is FairGame and Concord.
These 2 are no where to be seen and Concord is ment to be out soonish from what they said hahaha.
Live long live service....... or not hahaha
i think we'll get silent hill 2 remake so that would make the list for me , but 1+2 for me of course is 2) rise of the roninn and 1) final fantasy rebirth.
My 2024 is shaping up to be well entertaining. I have stocked up on VR games and have my backlog as well.
NEW arrivals that I'm hoping do well:
Backlog of owned games:
Green Hell
GT7
RE8+4 in that order
Saint and Sinners Part 1
Paper Beasts
Pistol Whip
Horizon: Forbidden West
Baldur's Gate 3
Cyberpunk will also be heavily rotated
Wanted:
Star Wars: Survivor
GOW: Ragnarok
Spider-Man 2
I don't think gaming life could get any better, except if somehow Factions 2 emerges from Neil's dark holes.
Ah, the big open world games on first places, most people will never finish and still complaining about the few bucks they're supposed to spend for these. 👍🏼
@Channel42 were you able to enjoy the classic Tomb Raider games on Steam? They're not working good with modern controllers.
You forgot all about stellar blade. I'm looking forward to that immensely! Oh and get that garbage out at number 7 needs deleted and people that respect the IP in to make it 🤦
@Nintendo4Sonic you can get keyboard to joypad remapping software or mods buddy. Lol I'm so looking forward to the remakes just pick and play no tweaking set up lol
@Nintendo4Sonic never finish? I get lost in these I spend a month or more. Me Skyrim character is 5 years old lol I spend a month or so in it then when a game distracts me it's months til I'm back again for me open worlds are pick up and play. I'm in to any fantasy ,sci-fi , action. Games don't have to be open world. Not an open world fan?
@EfYI kingdom come 2 this year? The first one was awesome. I recently platinum it, so much fun now the bugs are gone
@MikeOrator real fans? The real fans are the ones that refuse to stump up yet more money for NDs pointless remasters. Part 2 is 3 years old and runs at 60 fps on ps5. It does not need to be remastered.
@NinjaNicky or even people walking about in the towns would have been nice. New game comes out in March, can't wait.
@MrGilly69
A man can hope. Nobody has any idea what is going on with this game.
@EfYI I really hope it happens. It was a nice break away from the skyrim/fallout style of rpgs and took a lot of patience to master.
I am desperately trying not to get super hyped for the Star Wars but can’t help myself, I pray it doesn’t suck
@Nintendo4Sonic I actually played them with the keyboard which took a bit of getting used to but wasn't awful with the grid based system. They all seemed to work fine except I couldn't get 4 to boot up through Steam so I replayed it on my Dreamcast at the time
My most anticipated didn't even make top 20. Stellar Blade.
I'm currently suffering from Immediacy Bias, having Granblue so close has me vibrating with excitement.
Rise of The Ronin also has my attention, the lack of Team Ninja's usual alpha/beta combat tuning feels off though and maybe it means it won't be as deliciously tough.
Then there's Dragon's Dogma 2... Oh Dragon's Dogma 2 how I can't wait to throw my pawns off of cliffs again instead of waiting for the AI to figure out a way down.
@BIG3 I reckon that's because we have no inkling of when in 2024 it'll appear. All the games on the list have firm release dates/windows.
@Mintie according to wiki it's scheduled for a 2024 release.
@BIG3 yeah, that's too nebulous to be on a list of games that all have full dates or at least months for their release.
@Channel42 yeah I think TR4 is the most problematic one on Steam.
For anyone not happy with this list this is the popular vote of what we know is coming soon. There will be plenty of great titles not listed here and surprises we didn’t see coming.
@MrGilly69 agreed it does not need a remaster.
My top 5 would be..
5.Ronin
4.Tekken 8
3.Dragons Dogma 2
2.FF7 Rebirth
1.Space Marine 2
Elden Ring DLC would top the list if it were allowed
Even as DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree will be bigger and better than probably every game on this list.
Yeah I’m not see anything that’s screaming must buy. Looks like I’ll be saving money in 2024.
Perhaps the og tomb raider trilogy but that’s a remaster of a nearly 30 year old franchise.
2023 wasn’t exactly rammed either with dead space and resi 4 being my main purchases.
@Mintie I disagree. PS are subtly promoting Stellar Blade for a 2024 release. That should be enough.
@Mad001 I was talking about most people. You know, one hand they're complaining about games being to short, to expensive or what else. And on the other hand, they're complaining, that they are sitting on a mountain of unfinished games because of too much games releasing. But most important, they are complaining. 😁
Might be a hot take but I didn't think 2023 was actually that great for games compared to some other years. My personal reviews:
Hogwarts Legacy - 9/10 (above expectations)
Dead Island 2 - 8/10 (above expectations)
Star Wars: Jedi Survivor - 8/10
Loop 8: Summer of Gods - 7/10
Final Fantasy 16 - 8/10 (below expectations)
BG3 - 8/10 (below expectations)
Spider-man 2 - 8/10 (slightly below expectations)
Robocop: Rouge City - 7/10
Like a Dragon: Gaiden - 8/10
10/10 game years:
Red Dead Redemption - 2018
FF7 Remake - 2020
Persona 5 Royal - 2020
Ghost of Tsushima - 2020
Yakuza Like a Dragon - 2020
Tales of Arise - 2021
I think 2024 could pull up some cross-gen 10's for me as JRPG fan. P3R and Like a Dragon IW could already beat the whole of 2022 and 2023 in like 6 weeks.
I'm thinking FF7 Rebirth or Rise of the Ronin could be my first ever PS5 10/10.
WRONG. Earth Defense Force 6. all 10 spots
