The Last Chance to Play section buried in the PS5's PS Plus tab has been updated to reveal the next set of games that will be leaving the subscription service. In total, 10 PS4 titles will be knocked off PS Plus Extra soon. There are no dates attached to the games yet, but they generally leave the service when the next line-up rotation occurs — the next of which will be on 20th February 2024. It's presumed the games will be gone then.
The 10 PS4 games you'll lose access to are:
- Tacoma
- Resident Evil 7: Biohazard
- Tekken 7
- Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown
- Oninaki
- Lost Sphear
- I Am Setsuna
- Thomas Was Alone
- Hue
- Lost Words: Beyond the Page
The majority of these games aren't very long so you've still got more than enough time to complete a few of them, but if you want to get through the titles developed by Tokyo RPG Factory, you'll need to set aside at least 20 hours each for I Am Setsuna, Lost Sphear, and Oninaki. Given you seem to have a month left with these games, they are all still doable.
Are you currently playing any of these games or was planning to get to them in the future? Fast-track your backlog plans in the comments below.

Play Thomas Was Alone. It's not long and it's great.
Out of these I've completed Resident Evil 7, Tekken 7, I Am Setsuna and Thomas Was Alone.
I'll probably just try Tacoma and Lost Words since they're very short, maybe Hue as well. I'm kind of curious about Ace Combat but not quite in the mood for that gameplay right now, and I didn't like Setsuna enough to commit 50-ish hours to the devs' other two projects.
Better get on those rpgs , some might take a while
@DonkeyFantasy
Insane, I almost reported this comment.
I'm letting my subscription run out I'm not bothering with this no more, ubisoft saying get used to not owning your game fair enough. Ubisoft has been ripping us off since splinter cell blacklist. Subscription services don't care about the quality just long as your on paying I'm done. I've a game disc Library I own my games ubisoft you can run on I'm out.
I might for for the RE7 and Tacoma platinums before they leave.
@DonkeyFantasy
No!!!! Own nothing & be happy. I think that will be the new Xbox slogan.
@Gaia093 Lost Words is written by Terry Pratchett's daughter Rhianna, it's a really touching story and a sweet little game, definitely recommend it
Shame the fabled deal for ps extra discount from this week seemed to be "completely random accounts but really not many", I would have subscribed again. I'm not paying £100 for an extra subscription! Might sub for plus so I can play tekken8 online but really looking for a cheap deal and not the full price.
Hue is a great little game!
@Widey85 Personally I don't rate her. She also wrote the Tomb Raider reboot games and they had terrible stories imo, but if you recommend Lost Words and it's not too long I'll give it a try before it leaves.
@AK4tywill Yeah it's quite short and the story small and family based, so think it plays more to her strengths. Enjoy
Lost Sphear and I am setsuna are great. Oninaki is mid.
Play the first two Tokyo RPG studio games before they go
Wasn't Biohazard part of the 20 or so game collection you got when switching from the PS4 to PS5 ? Are those not unremovable from Sony ? Is nothing Sacred !!!
@Camlambelot I'll check it out this weekend
@MinerWilly If you added it to your library from the PS Collection, it will not be removed from it
Comment section acting like Ubisoft is the only studio and distributor in the whole gaming industry lol
@Voltan excellent thanks.
@DonkeyFantasy Tbf, Ubisoft's subscription is one where you DON'T have to worry about this stuff, as all games are on ubisoft+ (ik what you're referring to though)
I think the level of games leaving this month goes to show how temporary these subscriptions are for playing these games, especially on PS Plus. Many of these games were only added a few months ago and they're already leaving, meaning you can only now play them by buying them. That is why owning your games is important. Both physically and digitally
Hue is so, so good. The soundtrack is great as well.
@Gaia093 Ace Combat is brill btw, I'd really recommend giving it a go if you've not played it.
@DonkeyFantasy Yeah I feel like I shouldn't bother either as I take my time with games and they go on sale so often that it's better to buy them too.
I don't get the idea behind removing these games. Don't almost all of em not even sell much anymore?
I got some weird offer where I ended up with 18 months of Extra when I re-subbed for about a fiver. When this runs out in December, I might continue on Essential but no higher. If PS offered a lower sub for online play only, I'd take that.
Based on the comments, sounds like I should try to check out Hue and Thomas Was Alone before they disapppear. Only played Tekken 7 from this list.
Gonna try and platinum Tekken 7 and Tacoma before they come off.
@TechaNinja The whole point is you're not supposed to be finished playing them yet so you buy them after they leave the service. Does that work? I'd be interested in a report on that.
Another PS+ post comment section where everyone either thinks that these digital games are a way to archive a permanent library, S**t talks Ubisoft, brags that they are WAY cooler game enjoyers because they have played 30 indie side scrollers that are all the same, or declares their intention to let their sub run out for real this time guys.
Man that raised price for subscriptions is really paying off.
Yeah, it sucks that PS+ raised its subscription cost, but for the past three or four years, the sub cost has gone on sale right around Christmas time. Watch for the sale, man. It’s only 12 months away! 😋
I see Tiny Tina’s Wonderland is available to download in the monthly games area now. That’s cool.
Before it goes away, I need to drag out my VR headset and its 500 cords and play some more Ace Combat 7. BTW, the VR mode on Tekken 7 is a joke. If I remember right, it’s one practice fight. Oy.
This is why I like my sub. I get to play the games I would have liked to have bought in a sale but never did so when they get taken down and replaced with new titles I've not lost anything. It's a win win for me personally.
*will lose.. sounds better than loses (in the future)
@Veritas7Ax
Thomas was alone was free way back when.. I really cannot remember how long ago. It's actually a good game that develops the further you play it.
It does make a 1977 Atari VCS's graphics look good in comparison though.
I agree that Thomas Was Alone and Hue are good puzzle platformers, and Tacoma is a fine story title. For myself, I’m going to try Lost Words.
I don't get why we get the same complaints every month about the subscription service, as if it comes as a shock every time games are announced to be leaving. I actually make the games that are leaving my priority and wind up finishing pretty much all of them that I set my focus on, even if I can only play an hour or two a day. Obviously if you can only play games like once or twice a week for two hours then a subscription service is not for you but those that have a bit more time on their hands are still getting amazing value here.
Resident evil 7 I have on disc and have the PS5 version, so nothing major lost here, I hope people don't rely on this service too much 🤔 people still need to own the games they love on physical media imo
@Fighting_Game_Loser yep, like I said, if you want to use extra as a rental service then do but don't hang onto it for long term commitment games
@Voltan already did long time ago on PS3, is this a new version for PS4 or something? 🤷♀️
These subscription services are only suitable for shorter games really or games that are guaranteed to stay on the service. Good value if you have the time to play a lot of the games on it. For me though I think I'll stick to buying games and play them at my own pace.
Went back to the essential level and just added the games I wanted to play to my wishlist, now I grab them in various sales. Much better situation as I choose what to buy and play.
Many of the games are very cheap to own this way.
