Review Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night - The Finest Castlevania Game Never Made
Oh what a night
And breathe. Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night – the long-awaited Koji Igarashi-helmed spiritual successor to Castlevania: Symphony of the Night – is finally here. After a worryingly long gestation period, some Kickstarter troubles, and numerous delays, we were concerned that Bloodstained was destined to disappoint. Fortunately,...

News What Year Is It? Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Summons Journey Crossover
Didn't see that coming
For as cool as this crossover undoubtedly is, it feels a little odd in 2022. Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, the Castlevania-inspired gothic adventure, is getting a Journey-themed crossover on 23rd August, 2022. To be clear, that’s the emotional indie game from thatgamecompany, and not the Don’t Stop Believin’ band...
News Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Roguelike Stretch Goal Cancelled, Replaced with Randomiser
Game code not compatible
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night was a huge Kickstarter success, raising more than $5.5 million to help fund the game's development. Thankfully, it also turned out to be an excellent title upon its summer launch last year, garnering a 9/10 rating in the Push Square review. Koji Igarashi and co have continued to update the...
News Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night's Launch Trailer Is Gloriously Ludicrous
Igavania returns
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night finally launches today, and while we don't have a review ready for you all just yet, the game's launch trailer is well worth checking out as it basks in the glory of Koji Igarashi's return. Just take a look for yourself above. The footage opens with a rather humorous live-action scene of Iga...
News Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Has a Post-Release Roadmap to Rival Service Games
No, really
Remember when ANTHEM was supposed to be the next big service game, and then BioWare fell off the face of the planet? Yeah, us neither. The good news is that Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is right around the corner, and waiting to fill the third-person shooter's place. Wait, what? Obviously, the Koji Igarashi-helmed Castlevania clone...
News Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Release Date Trailer Shows Off Improved Art Style
Visuals of the night
We've not seen much of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night for a little while, and it seems for good reason. Developer Inti Creates has clearly taken a lot of feedback on board, and has worked to improve the game's somewhat bland art style. As you can see in this new trailer, it's quite an impressive overhaul. The new visuals have...
News Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Whipped Up for Summer
Symphony of the night
It’s got to be better than Mighty No. 9, right? To be fair, Koji Igarashi’s anticipated Castlevania-inspired spiritual successor Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night may have been conceived during the ill-fated Kickstarter boom, but it’s looking like it’s going to deliver on what fans expected. While we’re not overly...
News Kickstarter Castlevania Successor Bloodstained Cancelled on PS Vita
Also delayed into 2019
Crowdfunded Castlevania revival Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night will no longer release on the PS Vita, as a new Kickstarter update confirms that development for Sony’s handheld has been canned. Backers will have the opportunity to switch to a different system or request a full refund – either way, it’s Game Over for...
E3 2017 Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Gets Out Its Umbrella
Drowning in blood
Koji Igarashi’s anticipated Castlevania-esque adventure Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has gotten the trailer treatment ahead of E3 2017, showcasing a boss fight involving bodily fluids and umbrellas. It’s definitely coming together now this one, though we still find ourselves irritated by the way in which the main character...
News Kickstarter Star Bloodstained Is Apparently Only 20 to 30 Per Cent Complete
Bloody hell
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night was a smash hit over on Kickstarter when it was first revealed back in 2015. The project was funded incredibly quickly, but for how long it's been in development, we haven't seen too much of the Castlevania clone. And what we have actually seen of it hasn't looked especially polished, either. The game's...
News Here's 30 Seconds of Bloodstained to Tide You Backers Over
Great?
These high-profile Kickstarter games have been a bit of a disaster, haven't they? We mean, first there was Mighty No. 9, which is currently bathing in the PlayStation Store's bargain bin juice. Then there was Shenmue III, which is still relying on Photoshopped images of protagonist Ryo Hazuki face. And finally there was Bloodstained, the one...
